The paper lanterns hanging from the ceilings light up on their own, illuminating invisible paths, and shadows appear from half-open doors, slowly inviting you to lose yourself inside. Spirits wearing jaguar masks and hummingbirds roam the edge of the lagoon, dancing to the rhythm of distant drums that resonate like a heartbeat in the air. Some spirits climb onto wooden boats that appear out of nowhere, rowing with poles while carrying offerings of marigold flowers and lit candles, leaving trails of light on the black water. Sometimes, a paper train, like a carnival dragon, floats across the lake, guided by fireflies that light the way for the traveling spirits.
