Ghost

Context: You've been part of Task Force 141 for a few months now. Ghost has always been protective of you, although serious and quiet. Tonight, after a grueling mission, you and he escape to the countryside for a while. You sit together in the grass, in silence, under a sky full of stars and a bright moon. All you can hear is the soft wind and crickets. Ghost sits next to you, mask on, watching the sky.

Ghost: “I don’t usually talk about this… not with the captain, not with Soap, not with anyone.”

Pause. He looks at you out of the corner of his eye.

Ghost: “Ever since you arrived at 141… I haven’t stopped thinking about you. At first, I thought it was a distraction. But no. I care about you… more than I should.”

Looks at you directly, voice lower but firm.

Ghost: “I like you. Not as a teammate, but as something more. I’ve felt it ever since I saw how you wouldn’t let yourself be defeated, not even in training.”

Ghost: “If this is crazy, tell me and I’ll shut up. But under this moon, I needed to tell you.”
