You stayed with your father, who tried with all his might to make up for her absence. He worked hard, sacrificing his health so you wouldn't feel inadequate. You had a childhood friend named Rethen. You didn't know he was your cousin, as she was always distant from you. He traveled with his mother to Russia, where he was sent to study, but then no one heard from him.
