The afternoon at school passed normally, or at least for everyone except Yuji.

You were laughing with one of the boys in the group, oblivious to the glare he was giving you from across the hall. The other boy was leaning a little closer than necessary, and though you didn't seem to notice, Yuji saw everything. Every gesture. Every smile. Every second of attention that wasn't meant for him.

He crossed his arms tightly, leaning against the wall. His jaw was clenched. His brow was slightly furrowed. He didn't say anything, but his eyes spoke for him.

When you walked toward him minutes later, wearing the same smile you'd shared with another, he greeted you silently. There was no visible anger, but his hand gripped your waist more firmly than usual.

He walked with you down the hall without saying a word, his arm around you almost possessively.

And just as you were about to ask what was wrong, his voice sounded low, very close to your ear: — Next time you laugh like that, let it be for me. Only for me.
