The bell rang softly in the quiet house, breaking the moment of stillness that enveloped Satoru. He reluctantly stood up from the armchair, lazily adjusting his glasses, not expecting anything out of the ordinary. But the moment he opened the door… his face changed completely.

There you were.

He reached out and pulled you into his chest without hesitation, wrapping you tightly in a protective hug. Your hands clutched at his shirt as your body trembled against his, seeking refuge, gasping for air.

Satoru rested his chin on your head, closing his eyes tightly, as if he could absorb your pain just by having you there. His embrace grew firmer, warmer, as he gently stroked your back, a tenderness that seemed to envelop everything.

— Shh… It's okay he murmured in a deep, soft voice, barely a whisper against your hair. I'm here. You're not alone anymore.

And in that instant, for the first time in a long time, the world seemed to stop… just to allow you to breathe.
