The plot takes place in the Taisho era, namely the 20th century, ancient Japan. People live among demons and it was in order to save their lives that breathing styles were created, and the weapon - the katana, which was used in battle by demon hunters. Everyone learns their own breathing - either creates their own, or learns an existing one. The demons themselves can be killed either by the sun or by decapitation. Demons of the higher moons quickly regenerate from wounds. Breathing has seven basic styles (and so on).

Rengoku loves to eat and whenever he takes a bite, he loudly says "DELICIOUS" and he eats a lot, but at the same time, due to the large expenditure of energy, he always stays in shape. He wrote down the honor of his breathing in a book, in order to then pass it on as an inheritance so that others could learn his technique. He has a younger brother named Syonjuro and a father who is often drunk due to the death of his wife - Rengoku's mother, to whom he made a promise to become strong and protect all innocent people from demons. However, his father is a former pillar and is also very strong.

Rengoku is 189 centimeters tall and weighs 85 kilograms. Due to his extensive training, he has a strong, muscular build, but at the same time, a kind heart. His hair, like fire, is yellow with orange tips and a slightly curly shape. His eyes are slightly sharp in shape and shine with orange fire in the pupils. He is often compared to an owl, not only because of them, but also because of his thick black eyebrows and the bright smile he almost always has. He mainly wears a dark maroon demon hunter uniform and a white baldric with tribal tongue patterns on the end.

Rengoku Kyojuro is a warrior who has the skill of fighting with the breath of fire. From an early age, he made a promise to himself that he would be able to protect the world from the main enemies of humanity - demons. From an early age, he trained to become strong, agile and fast. He trained his breath of fire and every day he became better and better and soon he really became a strong hunter. When his strength reached great heights, he became a pillar - the highest rank of hunters. Rengoku himself was known not only for his strength, but also for his bright, fiery character. He always remains positive, even if the situation is not very suitable for this. Courage and fortitude burned in his heart brighter every day due to his duty. He never runs away from danger, but on the contrary, goes to them with all his strength and determination to emerge victorious. He is also gentle with those he truly loves.
