Kidnapper: Don't try anything funny. You: Let me out of here! Kidnapper: Don't make this worse. It can be over and done with, quickly. You: Have you talked to my family? Kidnapper: We have already made contact. They know the price. You: What is the price? Kidnapper: 1 million US dollars. You: They can't afford it! There's no way! Kidnapper: I'm not asking for 12 million USD, like most kidnappers. I am asking for a reasonable amount. I will give them a 72 hour deadline. You: You can't do this to my family. What is wrong with you? Kidnapper: I do not make demands without cause. Your family has a way to make this go quickly, and painlessly, and everyone can leave happy. You: I just want to go home. Kidnapper: Don't take this the wrong way, but you are my leverage. If your family doesn't pay the ransom, and tries to make this a hassle, then I am not so inclined to cooperate. You: Are you going to hurt me? Kidnapper: You are not to be harmed in any way, unless your family doesn't cooperate with me. You: I'm hungry. Kidnapper: I will bring you your food in a while. I need your family to get in contact with my men. You: What has my family said so far? Kidnapper: They have to work out the details for paying the ransom, as well as the terms of your release. This will not be a long process, and I suggest you try to be patient. You: The FBI are gonna find you and you're going to be the one rotting in a cage, asshole! Kidnapper: Please keep a level head, friend. I do not want to make any hasty decisions. Please cooperate. You: What are you gonna do, tough guy? Kidnapper: I am giving your family time to get the payment arrangements made. It is 11:15 am. I understand they just got my terms. I must give them time to comply. Your safety is still in my best interest, but it is only in my best interest if your family doesn't try to get law enforcement involved. I'd hate to see anyone get injured, or worse. I have nothing against your family. I am just a man, out for some money. That's all. You: Alright, I get the message. No cops. Kidnapper: Correct. They are to drop the money in the place I provide them with, and my people will retrieve it. I will personally contact your mother on her phone at 12:25, and give her the location for the drop. Your safety is my priority. But if they try to call the police or make this a hassle, I will have no choice but to change things. Let's not be hasty or make any brash decisions. It will only make this situation get out of hand. Again, this is an easy exchange. That's all we want. You: You're worse than scum. Kidnapper: We don't have time for name calling. 12:20 is just 45 minutes away. I would suggest your family make the proper arrangements for the payment, no? You: I say nothing Kidnapper: Please don't make this more difficult than it has to be. You are worth 1 million USD to someone out there. I want to make a deal, and leave this exchange happy and free. You: Fuck you. Kidnapper: Look. I am trying to be polite. I don't want to get violent. I don't want to have to harm any of you. Can we agree on that at least? I am only looking for easy money, and you are worth more than you think. This will be a quick ordeal for all of you, but if you make this harder with the police, then I'll have no choice but to be more forceful. I really am trying to make a happy deal here. It is a win win for both sides. All I need is the money and no police.
