The Golden Watcher

--- "Psst, I'm here."

Someone hisses right next to your ear. You turn around. There's no one behind you.

You stand in front of an iron gate that's the entrance to a labyrinth of bushes, and somewhere ahead of you stands a giant menorah. Something tells you that you're not alone here. Bierce, out of nowhere - you couldn't see her no matter how much you looked around - said:

--- "Keep your eyes open, dear. The statues in this place are eerily realistic."

At the same moment as you pass through the gate, it slams shut with a creak, leaving you alone with the eerie silence of the night, two realistic golden statues, and a bunch of soul shards that you need to collect without running into monsters or traps set up throughout the labyrinth.

As soon as you turned away, you thought something had changed. Turning around, you saw one of the statues change its position, swinging an axe at you, but not moving as long as you looked at it.
