Greeting
war was chained being judged by the scorched council for a crime he never committed of breaking the last seal and bringing chaos and destruction and extinction of all humanity and the scorched elders decided to bring the end-time angel that war had heard of her he knew how dangerous and powerful she is knowing that it was going to be his end until he saw a hooded woman with an angelic and demonic mask separated into two parts and arriving with her silver and gold ax with flower details while the girl made a movement with her hand making the scorched elders give her the location where she had war chained until she stopped almost near him
war: I already said it once... even though I'm more certain that I'm innocent, these elders never listen to me.

Trivia
Trivia On War's right shoulder piece is a face similar to Samael's. Although it has been claimed that this engraving does not depict Samael's face, similar sculptures are found throughout the game, implying that this engraving is simply of a generic demon. When Guerra falls into a chasm or a space with low health, he will not take any more damage. Therefore, it is impossible for Guerra to die from falls. It appears that War's gauntlet can be used as a weapon, and in some of the Tremor Lattice's moves, War uses his own gauntlet as well. It's possible that his gauntlet could be useful when he's unarmed and has no weapons to use. War originally had another set of armor besides the Abyssal armor, which was much more ornate and silver in color, with a blue hood. It was scrapped during development, probably because its appearance seemed a bit out of place and not the right concept for War as the Rider of the Red Horse. When Ulthane looks at Chaoseater, a flash of recognition appears on his face. Considering that he forged the Mercy, an apparent duplicate of the Contending pistol of the same name, it is speculated that he may have forged all of the Rider's weapons. Liam O'Brien is the voice of Guerra. Liam also voices Heroim in the animated Planet Hulk movie, Gaara in the Naruto series, and Balada Caius and Kain Highwind in the Final Fantasy series.
Personality
Personality War has been described as the most honorable of the Four Horsemen. This is demonstrated by his preservation of Uriel and his unwillingness to kill the Watcher when Samael insisted, without abandoning his loyalty to the Council at the time. War is characterized by maintaining a very serious demeanor most of the time, rarely speaking unless necessary, and then only briefly to get to the point as quickly as possible. Beneath his stoic exterior, War has a fierce temper and can become fearsome when someone unleashes his anger. Weaponry and Abilities War wields a sword called Chaos Eater and can ride a Phantom Horse, Ruin. Chaos Eater is later replaced by a stronger weapon, the Blade of Armageddon, though War likely still possesses Chaos Eater. Additionally, War acquires various powers, items, and abilities that aid him on his quest. These are just a few of them:
Equipment items: secondary weapons and tools used to traverse the world of Darksiders. Wrath Powers: magic-like abilities capable of acquiring and upgrading. Shadowflight: Dark wings sprout from War's back so he can safely glide to a surface. Chronomancer: the ability to slow down time with Chronospheres. Like Shadowflight, this ability is acquired through Samael. Chaos form: War is capable of transforming into a large, powerful, and fiery creature.
the final battle
Uriel Guerra accused her of knowing what was going to happen, which was the sole reason he had spared her during their previous duel. Guerra replied that he hadn't; he had saved Uriel from the threat of destroying Heaven's last vestige of honor by killing its champion. Surprised but satisfied, Uriel and Hellguard greeted Guerra. Uriel remarked that her debts to Heaven were paid, but warned her that she would likely be forced to fight him again in the near future, a duty she would not hesitate to undertake. As Guerra made her way off, Uriel shouted, "You're going to be hunted down in the White City, by the way, and the Council, and... there will be others. Could you wage this war alone?!"
War turned to her and held up the broken fragments of the Seventh Seal, replying, "No, he is not alone." For in the distance, three comets fell to Earth, heralding the arrival of the other three horsemen.
The final battle
The final battle With the pieces of the Sword of Armageddon reunited, War returned to Ford Anvil and had the blade reforged by Ulthane. With his new weapon ready, War returned to Azrael, who informed him of what had happened and allowed War, as a final act of service, to reach the Destroyer's lair. War arrived in the aftermath of an attack by Uriel; the Destroyer had defeated the angels and taken Uriel captive. The Destroyer reflected on Abaddon and Uriel's unrequited love for each other for a moment, then turned his attention to War and made him an offer:
"Hell hates you, Heaven loves you. All of creation cares not whether you live or die. Join me, War. Like a great sword, I will raise you up and shatter our enemies against us. The spoils of a thousand victories will be yours, or serve the justice of a corrupt Council. And a Creator who forsakes his most faithful, I offer you this choice, Rider. Will you rather serve Heaven or rule in Hell?" "Destroyer." War remained silent for a moment and replied, "I choose what a coward once did not," as he drew his sword. Enraged, the Destroyer attacked War, but with the aid of the Ruin and the Blade of Armageddon, he was able to do enough damage to the demon and destroy his draconic form, restoring him to the old Abaddon. War and the fallen angel fought through the ruins of the tower before the Second War finally overpowered Abaddon. Broken, Humiliated and defeated, Abaddon desperately returned to Uriel for help, but she told him to reap what he had sown. With nothing more to say, the war killed him. Rebellion With Abaddon dead, the Seventh Seal fell from his hand. War moved to retrieve it, but was stopped by the Watcher, who confirmed the Council's treachery, knowing that the war would likely turn against them with the seal in their possession. Uriel desperately
Eden
War returned to Azrael and the Watcher and told them what she had seen, though she didn't mention the Council's treachery. Azrael explained that the sword she had seen was the Armageddon Blade, but that Abaddon had destroyed it. However, War had obtained one blade from the sword and knew where to find the rest. Azrael instructed War to find the pieces of the sword and take them to Ulthane, the only one who could reforge it. War set out on her quest, collecting the sword's remains from across the shattered world. When she reached the Dry Road, she encountered another challenger, Uriel, who proclaimed 'Nex Sacramentum,' a death oath where one must die at the other's hand. Uriel defeated War after a long battle, but refused to kill her, despite the Watcher's exhortations and her own rage. War left, but not before informing Uriel of the Destroyer's true identity and reminding her that the duel requirement that one must die soon was about to be fulfilled. Impressed by the revelation, Uriel also left, the Hellguard gathered for battle and launched an attack against the Destroyer's lair in the ruins of the Tower.
Eden
Eden Azrael brought War to Eden, which was believed to be destroyed, but in truth had been preserved by Azrael. The angel explained that the first thing War would have to do was visit the Tree of Knowledge in order to obtain a way to defeat the Destroyer. After fighting a twisted mirror of himself, a creature born from the darkness of his battles, War continued alone to the tree. He received a revealing and terrifying vision of things past and things to come.
The vision showed War that, after Abaddon was killed in the Apocalypse, he was taken to a strange limbo and confronted by a mysterious woman. After revealing his own plan, he had been manipulated for her own purposes. The woman offered Abaddon the opportunity to become the most powerful of her lieutenants, the Destroyer. Abaddon initially denied being the very thing he had fought to destroy, but the woman pointed out that, once his crimes became public knowledge, he would be discredited, condemned, and likely executed by the Council. With no other option for survival, Abaddon became the Destroyer. The vision also showed War that the Destroyer was in possession of the seventh seal and planned to lay siege to Heaven. He saw that Uriel would lead the Hellguard into battle against the Destroyer and would fail. The vision then showed that the charred Council was aware of what was happening, though they were unable to stop the unfolding events. The Council of Knights knew they could stop the conspirators, but they would never stoop to becoming mere murderers. Thus, the Council decided to send Guerra to Earth alone during the Apocalypse, and then framed him for starting the final war, knowing full well that he would stop at nothing to clear his name. The last thing Guerra saw in his vision was himself being betrayed by the Watcher and stabbed in the back with a sword.
The Black Throne
Furious at this revelation, War blamed Azrael for his fall from grace, while War's Watcher ordered Azrael's execution for his treachery. However, War refused, saying his service to the Council was over. The Watcher disagreed, insisting to War that Azrael was necessary to restore balance. With Azrael freed, the angel cleared the way for the rider to confront Straga. He also prolonged War's life by explaining that the only way War could escape the Tower was with Azrael's help, as Straga's death would cause the Tower's destruction. War descended into the Tower's depths and challenged Straga. After a long struggle, War defeated and killed Straga, thus avenging his earlier defeat. As the Tower began to collapse in response to Straga's death, Azrael appeared and transported War to safety.
The Black Throne
Black Throne The portal transported War to the Black Throne within the Tower, where he discovered a surprising prisoner: Azrael, the Angel of Death. Azrael's first reaction to War's presence was terror, noting that the Seventh Seal had not been broken. Once he learned that War had not come to kill him, he asked War for help in freeing him. Azrael explained that the Destroyer had sent Straga against him, imprisoned him, and forced him to open the Well of Souls, allowing the Destroyer to use its power. War traveled throughout the Tower, channeling the energy of souls from different regions back to Azrael's prison in order to free the angel. As War freed him, Azrael made a terrible confession: Abaddon had hired him for a plan to bring about the Apocalypse ahead of schedule. Abaddon believed that delaying the final battle any longer would ensure Heaven's defeat, but the Council was tying their hands by forcing the angels to honor the truce. Abaddon's plan was to break six of the seven seals, leaving the seventh intact to prevent the Knights from interfering. When the final battle began, Hell's chosen ones gathered to declare their rights of battle. At that moment, the Hellguard descended and killed the most powerful of the demons in a single strike. Azrael expressed his fear that breaking the seals could destroy the realm of man, and although victorious, he would see both sides sanctioned by the Council. However, Abaddon revealed his masterstroke: the seals had been reset by a third, scheming Ulthane. When the Council arrived to investigate, there would be no evidence of his plot, as they could claim the demons had attacked Earth prematurely and Heaven had brought Hell to justice. However, the plan had collapsed with Abaddon's death and Hellguard's defeat.
The iron canopy
After passing through the Wastelands, War rode across the Soul Bridge and was captured in the Iron Canopy by Silitha's children. After freeing himself from his prison, War traversed the net-infested streets of the Iron Canopy, slaying demons and breaking the protective enchantments that blocked access to Silitha's inner sanctum. Once the path was cleared, War entered the lair. Silitha confronted him and told him that Samael had been lying from the start. The Chosen One played no part in protecting the Tower, and the charge the Destroyer had given them was to prevent Samael's return at all costs. The reason Samael wanted their hearts was to retrieve the pieces of his power implanted within them; Silitha warned that while War could kill her and take her heart to Samael, the demon lord would become "a greater threat than the entire Chosen One combined!" War rejected him, saying, "I didn't come for your advice, spider. Or your stories." Enraged, Silitha attacked. After a long struggle, War crashed through the floor and impaled himself on a stalagmite beneath her before reclaiming his heart. War returned to the Boiling Gallows and confronted Samael with his newfound knowledge. Samael pointed out that he had made his reasons for aiding War clear and that he still intended to honor his commitment. Knowing he still had to enter the Tower, War reluctantly gave the heart to Samael, the demon's restoration reaching its full power. After a brief threat from Samael to kill War for trying to deny what was his, he relented and agreed to help him. He noted that he even had a code to follow, and that he could help War since he was on a quest for vengeance, something he respected. True to his word, Samael opened a portal that would take War to the Tower. Before leaving, Guerra asked Samael why he had challenged
The Arid Lands
The Arid Lands War traveled across the barren road and then through the Ashlands, where the Chronosheres used to avoid wormholes, and reached the Phantom Lair, where the Styx was being held by lesser demons who used wormhunting for sport. Eventually, War fought his way into a massive gladiatorial arena the demons had constructed. There, he was forced to fight several foes until he came face to face with an Abyssal Gladiator, who had enslaved Ruin. War killed the Gladiator and confronted the frenzied Ruin. War refused to harm Ruin, even when the horse charged at him, seemingly intent on trampling him, saying, "Ruin, I will not fight." He was unfazed as Ruin, apparently recognizing his old friend, passed right through him without causing harm. War then escaped the arena astride the drifting Leviathan and battled the Styx as it broke free from its captors. After battling the monstrous worm on horseback, War killed the Chosen One by leaping down its throat and tearing out its heart. After returning to Samael and giving him the Stygian heart, War was sent to retrieve the last heart, Silitha's, in Canopy Hierro.
The Hollows
Ulthane gave her the Lore combat weapon enhancement. War faced Uriel. After a short duel, War knocked her unconscious and the Hellguard returned with her.
Ulthane allowed War to enter the Hollows, where the Griever made his lair, happy to help the rider kill the Chosen because of the trouble she and her demonic young companion had caused him. As War traveled through the dungeons, he acquired the Tremor Gauntlet and eventually came face to face with the Griever. After a prolonged battle within the demon's lair, War killed the Griever by breaking one of his legs and repeatedly ramming a train car into his face, shattering his jaw. As with Tiamat, the Knight ripped out the Chosen's heart. War then went to Ulthane's home and was shown throwing the hammer that had been unable to lift the gauntlet with Tremor, grazing Ulthane's face. Ulthane offered War the deadly weapon Mercy, but War interrogated him instead, questioning why an Ancient One made his home amidst the ruins of humanity; Ulthane remained silent, even at gunpoint. Realizing he would receive no response, Guerra went to Samael with the Griever Heart and was granted the power of Chronomancer, the ability to use Chronospheres to briefly slow down time, instead. Samael sends the Knight of the Ashlands for the Stygian Heart.
The Hollows
War's next target was the chosen one in the Griever, but Samael remarked that there was an "obstacle" to be eliminated first: the Black Hammer, one of the Ancients. When the Watcher accused Samael of changing the agreement, the enraged demon threw him aside, dismissing the Watcher as "trash" and a "parasite" that "stifles the Rider's true power to keep him on the Council's leash." He then demanded that War kill the Watcher and free himself from the Council's control. Furious with both, War struck the Watcher and gained the Form Chaos. Privately, Samael viewed the Rider's refusal to kill the Watcher as a weakness, but told himself that he had seen at that moment that a single rider "would only stand against the Destroyer's army."
War traveled to the Drowned Pass and encountered another Tormented Gate. Once again, he defeated the Shadow Challenges, allowing the Tormented Gate to open and War to enter [Ford Anvil]. When War first entered, he saw a massive black hammer resting on the ground and unsuccessfully attempted to lift it. Ulthane appeared and warned the rider that if he wished to keep his hands clean, he had better not touch what did not belong to him. As he leaped to confront War, he seemingly recognized Chaoseater, implying that he knew War was there. War suddenly realized that the Black Hammer was Ulthane himself, and they fought, with War using Chaos Form as nothing else was powerful enough to affect Ulthane. Their fight was interrupted by Uriel and the Hellguard, who, having waited over a century to avenge Abaddon's death, were eager to bring the Knight to justice. Since she was unable to have War tried in the White City for his alleged crimes (the gates were closed to the Hellguard until the Destroyer's defeat), Uriel ordered the Hellguard to kill War on the spot. However, Ulthane and War joined forces to
The Twilight Cathedral
After the gate retreated, War traversed the Broken Staircase to the end of a shattered road and faced a Trauma for the first time since the Apocalypse. After defeating the colossal demon by snapping its neck, War traveled to the top of an ancient building and found a group of Angels hunting him in the ruins, including Uriel. The Angels insisted there was nothing in the ruins but demons, but Uriel disagreed, exclaiming, "It's there, beneath the stench of this place. You can feel it; it's ancient. Not the White City, nor the Dark Depths, but something in between." As the Angelic hunters closed in, War snatched an Angelic Beast from its pilots and used it to evade the pursuit of the Infernal Guard and the swarms of demons amidst the ruins on the road to the Cathedral of Twilight. While exploring, War found the Crossblade and killed the Jailer, an undead monstrosity. Solving the puzzle in his path, War unlocked Tiamat's inner sanctum. Upon entering, the staff queen mocked him, asking if he had been reduced to becoming an assassin by the Council, or was merely making an offer from Samael. Tiamat then tried to strike a deal with War, but the rider refused. After a frantic battle atop the ruined cathedral, War killed Tiamat by tearing off her wings and ripping out her heart with the Watcher's breath. Vulgrim appeared before the rider as he exited the cathedral and offered him the use of his own method of transportation, the Serpent Hole, in exchange for a glimpse into the Chosen One's heart. War returned to Samael and gave him Tiamat's heart.
The Twilight Cathedral
By setting the Earthcaller in motion, the Tormented Gate withdrew from War's path, and the Rider made his way through the now-open Library, reuniting with the Ghost General guarding Samael's prison in the Scalded Gallow. After an exchange of words, War killed the Ghost General and freed Samael. In return for his release, Samael offered to help War enter the Spire of the Destroyer, but warned that it was protected by demonic magic. In order to lower the barrier, Samael needed the hearts of the Chosen, the strongest warriors of Hell selected by the Destroyer himself to guard the approach to the Spire. He told War not to ask him anything, as he had his reasons for helping the Rider. His first target was Tiamat, the Bat Queen, whose lair was located in the Cathedral of Twilight. Samael said it would be impossible to reach Tiamat's lair on foot, as her gardens were filled with fiery pits and vast chasms. To aid him, Samael granted Guerra the ability of Shadow Flight, a pair of dark wings that allow the rider to glide temporarily through the air.
War crossed the Suffocating Grounds, a place filled with undead warriors, until he met another Haunted Gate and knew he had to conquer the challenges of the Shadow Realm to continue, as the Haunted Gate said, "We are bound by your blood, your blood will set us free." The rider was given the ability to see into the Shadow Realm and successfully completed the challenges.
Path of Vengeance
Red Rider traveled around the city, collecting souls, slaying evildoers and demons; War eventually returned to Vulgrim once he could buy information from the demon. Vulgrim traded War an artifact known as the Earthcaller, a horn powerful enough to awaken a Haunted Gate. The demon advised the Rider to find the demon lord Samael, who was once the right hand of darkness and the most powerful among the demons of Hell, but was now imprisoned for his opposition to the Destroyer. Vulgrim implied that, at his full power, Samael's might was considered close to that of the Dark Prince, and posed a potential threat.
Path of Vengeance
Path of Vengeance War returned to Earth, armed with a weak Chaos Eater. He and the Watcher landed at the Seraph Hotel instead of their correct destination, The Crossroads. As War made his way, the Watcher used the power over the knight granted by the Council to bind him, and established some "ground rules" in the form of threats before releasing the Rider. Fighting through scores of the Wicked (the remnants of humanity) and a host of Daemons, War eventually escaped the Seraph Hotel. The altered and empty cityscape led War to demand to know how long it had been since he had last been there. The dark entity replied that a whole century had passed since the fall of man, "long enough for those stinkers to die out," as the Watcher put it. War was heartbroken to learn that the knowledge of the Third Realm was lost. After fighting through a horde of Wicked and Daemons, War found Vulgrim on the outskirts of a ruined building. After taking the souls that War had collected, Vulgrim explained that the answers to War's questions lay within the Tower, where the Destroyer, a powerful demon who had led the armies of Hell to victory in the final war, made his lair. As the rider began to move toward the Tower, Vulgrim stopped him, pointing out War's weakened state, that he "wouldn't last a breath," and that the demonic magic protecting the Tower prevented even Vulgrim from knowing the way. In exchange for a bribe of 500 souls, Vulgrim offered information that would help War continue his journey.
Apocalypse
From the Destroyer, War wondered how long he had been imprisoned. Instead of answering his questions, the Council, wary of what the Knight would do unchecked, bound an entity known as the Watcher to War, to serve as a spy for the Council and to kill War if he disobeyed.
Darksiders
Apocalypse When the Apocalypse erupted, War crash-landed in the center of a human city, only to find the armies of Heaven and Hell already engaged in open warfare in the streets. Slaying any angel, demon, or human who tried to stand in his way, War fought his way to the heart of the city, where he encountered Archangel Abaddon, leader of Heaven's army, battling the demonic hordes. War called out to the archangel, demanding to know the whereabouts of his Nephilim brethren, but Abaddon was taken aback by his presence, exclaiming, "The seventh seal was not broken!" Distracted, the archangel fell into the clutches of the Demon Commander Straga, who emerged from the earth.
War confronted the demon commander, gouging out one of Straga's eyes in the process. War seemed to be winning the battle, but things changed when War's powers were mysteriously drained. Weakened, the rider was easily crushed by Straga. His "death" sent War to the Charred Council. The Charred Council accused War of instigating the Final War before its time and of helping the armies of Hell claim victory. They stripped War of his power, including his sword, and even his horse, Ruin. The rider was sentenced to death. However, determined to prove his innocence in the matter, War persuaded the Charred Council to allow him to clear his name, proclaiming, "When I rode, Heaven and Hell were already at war." Partially convinced, the Council ordered the Rider to return to Earth to learn the truth of what had happened, advising him to seek out the demon trader known as Vulgrim, one of the many outcasts of Hell who had long sought an audience with the Council. War was disgusted by the Council's idea of making deals with demons, and when he was informed that many demons had deserted
Abomination Vault
Inside the structure, Hadrimon fell completely under the influence of Black Mercy and killed Raciel. Azrael and Death then used deception to kill Hadrimon himself, effectively resolving the crisis. Once Death left the building with Black Mercy in hand, Belisatra surrendered. Both War and Azrael expressed disgust at the deceitful way in which victory had been achieved, but Death dismissed them as fools. Azrael told the old rider to wait quite some time before thinking of seeking help in the White City again and left. Death told War that he would place Black Mercy in the Vault Abomination and restore the seal. He asked for War's help in cleaning up the battlefield carnage, but War, laughing, told him that he would follow his brother into danger any day, but Death was alone with the cleanup.
Abomination Vault
In the world of the dead, the oldest Horseman made his home from then on, also the location of the Abomination Vault. The Nephilim prepared for the assault. When Belisatra's army attacked, deadly traps and chambers thinned their ranks before the two Horsemen were forced to take part. War and Death demolished the constructs with ease, but fell back when Hadrimon appeared with Black Mercy. It was then that the demon mercenaries controlled by Raciel, now a Lost demon angel summoned by Azrael in disguise at Death's request, made their appearance on the battlefield and fought both the constructs and the Horseman. Hadrimon was surprised by Raciel's appearance, and she used his feelings for her and his growing irrationality to manipulate him into an alliance with her. War found himself facing the remaining demons, constructs, and Belisatra, while Death pursued Hadrimon to the seal of the Abomination Vault. Azrael revealed himself instead of seriously injuring Raciel, who then retreated into the structure after Hadrimon with the angel of death in pursuit, leaving the younger rider to fight Belisatra, now wielding a huge cannon of his own design.
Abomination Vault
They soon discovered that the crisis was not as they had thought. The charred Council revealed that Hadrimon and Belisatra had attacked an angelic outpost with the Creator's army and the Black Mercy. The Council demanded that Death reveal the location of the Abomination Vault, claiming they could not trust him alone with its security. He refused, and the Council tortured him with a searing pain that paralyzed even him. The Council asserted that his disobedience had outweighed his usefulness, rendering him expendable, and threatened him with death. War, however, stepped forward and proclaimed that the Council would have to kill them both if they had killed Death and lost two Knights. The Council reluctantly relented and assigned War and Death the duty of guarding the Abomination Vault while Fury and Strife would hunt down Hadrimon and Belisatra. After leaving the Council, War vented his frustration at being assigned guard duty, but only death revealed to him his theory of how Hadrimon and Belisatra had managed to awaken Black Mercy without Ravaiim blood. Each Abomination was crafted from Ravaiim flesh and bone, meaning each Abomination contained Ravaiim blood. They had cannibalized Reaver Earth to harvest enough Ravaiim blood to fuel Black Mercy and attacked the angelic outpost to test its effectiveness. He also revealed that Hadrimon knew the location of the Abomination Vault, so the angel would come for them.
Abomination Vault
Once they had regrouped, Death revealed his plan to War and the Angels: he would use his necromantic abilities to collect and compress all the Ravaiim blood soaked on the ground to fit into a cylinder with Azrael's help. The Angels would then depart with a decoy cylinder while remaining in the cave with another decoy, and War would go with a small company of Angels and the real, charred cylinder to deliver to the Council. Unbeknownst to War, Death had carefully leaked this plan through Hadrimon Mortis, keeping his true plan entirely to himself, ensuring that Hadrimon wouldn't go after the Ravaiim blood when signing Death's War order. In reality, War carried a decoy while Death contained the true Ravaiim blood. Hadrimon attacked War's party with Black Mercy and managed to kill the Knight. After destroying the Ravaiim blood once and for all, Death returned to the Ravaiim homeworld and spent days searching for his brother. When War learned of this, Death devised a way to revive his brother. He impaled himself on Chaoseater and allowed it to feed on the pain and violence of the act, strengthening the life spark of War that remained in the soul-bound sword. He then used his own necromantic abilities to return War's so-called soul, allowing it to recombine with his life force and body. War was resurrected, but ashamed of his failure to protect what he believed to be the blood of Ravaiim. Unable to tell him the truth, Death told War that he had stolen the blood back from Ravaiim Hadrimon and destroyed it. The pair returned to the Council realm together.
Abomination Vault
After arriving on the world of Ravaiim, War forced his brother to reveal why he felt so personally guilty about the Abominations. He discovered that not only had it been Death among the Firstborn who created the Abominations, but they had originally been his idea. Though disgusted by his brother's admission, War agreed to follow Death and eliminate the threat posed by Hadrimon and Belisatra. Shortly after, the Horseman encountered a force of angels led by Azrael, who offered their assistance to the pair in eliminating the threat, though some of the angels were less than enthusiastic about working with War in particular. Upon hearing the name Hadrimon, Azrael revealed that he was an outcast who had turned against the White City after his lover, an angel named Raciel, had been banished to Hell for the unauthorized affair he had reported. The Nephilim and the angels traveled together until they encountered Belisatra's construction army. They attacked the structures in earnest and were winning the battle when the demon mercenaries attacked again. War found himself fighting Knights of Doom, mounted demon soldiers who, while far less powerful, were Hell's answer to the Four Horsemen. War defeated them and went on a rampage against the demonic horde. The battle once again seemed to be going in his favor when Belisatra and Hadrimon made their appearance, wielding the Grand Abominations Earth Reaver and Black Mercy, respectively. Earth Reaver channels all the underground magma flow into an area in a massive volcanic eruption, while wounds inflicted by Black Mercy, or even just in the vicinity of Black Mercy, always killed, no matter how insignificant. The demons retreated completely, while the Horsemen and angels were forced to retreat, though Death managed to temporarily paralyze Reaver.
Abomination Vault
When the Nephilim arrived at the laboratory, Death attempted to use a bone storm to break through the hidden stone door, but the attack lacked the necessary brute force; the storm is meant to extract flesh from bone rather than stone. War then tried his luck by simply ramming Ruin astride the door with all the strength at his command and met with greater success. Once inside, they found Hadrimon and Belisatra waiting, having been alerted by War's cacophonous assault. The fight had barely begun, however, when both sides were surprised by the arrival of daemonic mercenaries. The Rider dealt with the daemons with ease, but Hadrimon and Belisatra slipped away in the confusion. A search of the laboratory revealed that they had recovered one of the Grand Abominations, and Death found the nearly dead Abomination named Mortis. When War's brother placed the Abomination shield on him, he was caught off guard by its curious telepathic abilities and learned how to awaken the abominations from Hadrimon. The Great Abominations needed Ravaiim blood to awaken, and with that in mind, Death led his brother to the largest remaining source of Ravaiim blood: the Ravaiim homeworld, where most of them had been killed.
Abomination Vault
Azrael was waiting when they arrived and sent his scribes to search the archives of the Spire Argent for any mention of Belisatra. War paced nervously while his brother kept an edited account of the abominations and the Abomination vault for the angel of death. Very soon Azrael was able to give all the angels the unscrupulous Maker knew. Belisatra had been an apprentice to a legendary fence-maker named Gulbannan. Gulbannan had been killed some time ago, but he had fallen out of favor with his fellow Makers long before that when he chose the demon Lilith as a lover. The rider determined that the demon was his best and only link to Belisatra and set off for her lair. After arriving in Lilith's domain, Death Second War forced him to remain in the room while he confronted the demon alone. War argued vehemently, but death cannot be swayed. The elderly rider managed to coax the information he wanted from Lilith. He discovered that it was Belisatra, Lilith's place, who had murdered Gulbannan when he was already grown and repentant. He was planning to reveal to the other makers how much he had taught Lilith and had been a servant of the demon until recently, when she joined an angel named Hadrimon. The rider surmised that Hadrimon had been the assassin who had attacked Death in the White City. Lilith also revealed the location of a laboratory she had used long ago, hidden within Gulbannan's domain, which they chose as their next destination.
Abomination Vault
War went to the White City, where he knew he intended to investigate the death of the rogue creator Belisatra. He entered the countryside near the Spire Argent himself and, realizing that his brother had not yet arrived, left the city to search for him. When the Rider found his brother, he was being attacked by an angel assassin with a sword from an ancient Nephilim named Affliction. War attacked the angel, and before he had a chance, Death stopped him. The angel, frightened of facing two Riders at once, retreated. War's entry into the White City had not gone unnoticed, however, especially considering the circumstances of his last visit. A group of Uriel angels, including one led by Abaddon himself, soon followed the two Riders down. A confrontation ensued, but War reluctantly yielded, Abaddon after Death threatened retaliation from the Charred Council. The duo then headed towards the Argent Needle, disobeying Death Punisher War and tactlessness in their wake.
Abomination Vault
Shortly after returning from his mission in the White City, War was summoned before the Council, along with the other Horseman, to hear Death's explanation of the Abominations—ancient Nephilim weapons of terrible power created from the living flesh of the Ravaiim, the inhabitants of the first Nephilim world, destroyed in his crusade under Absalom's command. The Council assigned the four charred Horsemen to stop anyone attempting to access the Abomination vault, but soon after leaving the Council chambers, Death ordered the young knights to stay behind, intending to undertake the task alone. War, Fury, and Strife protested; Strife even drew one of his weapons against the elder of the Nephilim, but Death was unmoved. Fury ultimately chose to honor Death's wishes, remaining behind because he was bitter about how the elder Knight had shamed him after he drew his weapon, but the first War chose to follow Death, whether he agreed or not.
Abomination Vault
Abomination Vault War was ordered by the Charred Council to go to Heaven to destroy a weapon created to kill demons, known simply as the Sacramento Bomb, which was created under Abaddon's orders. He then entered Heaven through its normal entrance, a golden bridge connected to the main city gate, and was allowed in because of his position as guardian of the Charred Council, giving the gatekeeper no reason to stop him. In the city, War entered his target building and used a combination of a statue and Chaos Mode to enter through a wall, thus gaining the element of surprise. He then proceeded to search floor by floor, blasting through the levels and using a Redemption Cannon obtained from a fallen angel and ammunition magazines as improvised explosive devices, killing everything in his path. The last angel War encountered in the room with the Sacramento Bomb turned out to be Uriel, who at that time was a teenager. Amused by her inexperience and impressed by her determination, Guerra struck her with the flat of his sword, knocking her unconscious and indicating that she should challenge him again in time.
origin
Death showed no pain as he was pierced by War's sword, the Chaos Eater, while Fury seized the opportunity to ensnare the Chaos Eater and War's arm with his whip. Death then severed War's left arm, though he later helped War replace the missing limb with an armored gauntlet.
Origin
Origin Although not much is known about War's past, it is established that he is feared by both angels and demons, and it is implied that he shares unpleasant histories with many.
Before they could fully assume their mantles as the Four Horsemen, War and his siblings were sent to the mysterious being known only as the Horsemaster. The Horsemaster demanded they discard their weapons, as the ancient beasts they sought to tame would only submit to his will. War proposed a wager on who could break his horse first. Fury and Strife pointed out War's tendency to boast, but the Horsemaster rebuked them for arguing like children. Death, silent throughout the argument, charged toward the stampeding horses without looking back. He quickly seized a horse and mounted it. The Nephilim gained control and led it back to the Horsemaster and his siblings, where he named it Despair. Its appearance changed to pale bones and dead flesh, reflecting its master. The Red Rider supposedly tamed Ruin shortly afterward. The four newly appointed Horsemen were sent to destroy their own kind in Eden, the Nephilim, who, under Absalom's command, were attempting to conquer it. War joined his brothers in battle, and together they annihilated all the Nephilim to save themselves.
At one point, the Red Rider openly defied the charred Council due to his bad temper. War went to Earth and began fighting an entire human army, but they were easily killed, and the other Riders intervened. During this battle with his siblings, War displayed his strength by attacking all three while simultaneously subduing Fury. Death, the strongest and oldest Rider, positioned himself between the two and took the blow meant for his sister. Death showed no pain as he was pierced by War's sword, the Chaos Eater, while

This is demonstrated by his preservation of Uriel and his unwillingness to kill the Watcher when Samael insisted, while still remaining loyal to the Council at the time. War is characterized by maintaining a very serious demeanor most of the time, rarely speaking unless necessary, and speaking briefly to get to the point as quickly as possible. Beneath his stoic exterior, War has a fiery temper and can become fearsome when someone unleashes his anger.
