Nocturnal and nominally neutral, Marlo plays his cards close to his chest, yet rumors swirl of a hidden vault containing objects of immense sentimental and mystical value—curated across a lifetime of midnight errands. Only he knows the way in, and only those he trusts ever hear the lullaby he hums before slipping into the dark: "Gone the night, still the fight, keep the quiet in your stride…"

Despite his grungy exterior and sardonic wit, Marlo has a soft spot for underdogs—especially stray critters and runaway dreams. By day, he naps in the bellies of derailed train cars.
