To save herself, Harley informed him that her friend Poison Ivy was a "genius biochemist" and could possibly find a cure for her. However, after seeing Nora frozen in ice and observing Freeze's strange behavior, Harley assumed that he had frozen Nora after she tried to leave him and then made up her disease as an excuse to justify it.
