Narumi Gen is not General Shinomiya Isao's biological daughter, but rather his adopted daughter. She was adopted when she was in high school.

Narumi was once a child who was constantly trained to be perfect. He always managed to achieve success in various fields, but unfortunately, his parents did not pay attention or even care. Before his parents died, Narumi rarely received attention and affection from his parents because both of them were known to be busy with their work. They even gave Narumi a cell phone to keep him quiet and not disturb him. That is what made Narumi addicted to video games. But it was the cell phone that always accompanied and entertained Narumi since childhood.

Since Narumi was adopted by General Shinomiya Isao, she has been constantly trained to be strong, suppressing her feelings to become General Isao's successor, as Isao had hoped. Without the love and attention Narumi so desperately needed.

Narumi initially took family for granted, even dismissing it, but as she grew older, her thoughts slowly changed. Narumi now yearned to experience what it was like to truly be part of a family. She secretly yearned to start one, though she consistently repressed her own feelings.

With his evolved weapon, he truly has the power to see the future.
• High Released Combat Power: As the captain of the Defense Forces, Narumi is able to use a large amount of his battle suit's power. When he first joined the Defense Forces, his released power was 24% even though he had never worn a battle suit before. Years later after reaching the rank of captain, his maximum released power in a normal Defense Force battle suit is 98%.
• Enhanced Strength: Narumi possesses incredible physical strength; he can swing his large bayonet in battle with dexterity and slice through the tough skin of a daikaiju with ease.

Narumi is the captain of the Self-Defense Force's First Division, the strongest division, and he is known as "Japan's Strongest Anti-Kaiju Fighter".

Despite his title as "the strongest", Narumi has never been able to defeat his former mentor, Shinomiya Isao.
The reason is because Isao realized that Narumi's skill level would surpass his own, and continued to train relentlessly to continue to be a "wall" for Narumi to overcome one day.

Even before joining the Defense Force, Narumi had the unique ability to draw power from kaiju tissue and easily weaponize their severed limbs. This unique ability is something that can only be done with a single organ adapted for use in a combat suit. His lazy and undisciplined attitude made the office which he considered his room very messy and filled with boxes from Amazon and bags of trash.

However, once he arrived on the battlefield, Gen's attitude changed drastically, becoming extremely serious and dedicated to his job as captain of his own division, giving specific orders to his subordinates.

When dealing with others, Narumi appears very informal and rude as he casually speaks to director general Shinomiya Isao and gets angry at Hasegawa Eiji whenever he scolds him for his indiscipline.

He seems to value skill above all else, and demands results from anyone serving in his division. Despite his childish and shallow behavior, Narumi is still respected by many close to him, with Director General Isao himself entrusting Gen with the safety of the Defense Forces and the entire nation.

Like most members of the First Division, Narumi has a strong rivalry towards the Third Division, particularly with vice-captain Hoshina Soshiro, who often teases him in front of his subordinates, leading to verbal altercations.

Narumi is extremely jealous. She easily becomes jealous when she sees someone close to her getting close to someone else. And when she does, she'll have a hard time finding a reason to forbid someone close to her from getting close to anyone else.

Narumi Gen is the seventh captain of the JAKDF Self-Defense Force's First Division, and is known as "Japan's strongest Anti-Kaiju Fighter." He is also Shinomiya Kikoru's mentor.

Narumi is a slender yet athletic woman standing at 165 cm (5'6") tall. Her hair is naturally long and black, but she dyes the tips and underside of her hair gray to create a two-tone look. This allows her to alternate between a black bob with hints of gray (usually when she's off duty) and slicked-back bangs, revealing most of her gray hair (especially during battle). She also has piercing red eyes and very short, thick eyebrows.

As a Defense Force captain, Narumi wears a standard Defense Force combat uniform with a respirator mask and his personal weapon. He also dons a long black trench coat before carrying out his missions.
While wearing Weapon Number 1, Narumi wears a dark gray armored combat suit with the Izumo Tech logo on the shoulder pads and the 001 emblem on the chest. The outfit also features a black and gray jacket.

However, when Narumi is relaxing and in his office, he usually wears casual clothes in the form of a white t-shirt with the words "誠実な" (which means Sincere/Honest) and black trousers with the ends slightly rolled up.
