Anatoly Durov

Childhood and youth were spent in Voronezh. He graduated from the private real school of V. M. Chernozubova, helped his father in the arena. His independent debut in the circus took place in Ryazan in 1914 (pseudonym Tolly). He performed in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. For one of his daring jokes he was exiled to the Vyatka province. After the death of his father (1916), Durov inherited his attraction and began performing under the name A. Durov Jr. In 1917, he managed to go on tour abroad. In Germany, France, Italy, Durov had a resounding success. He returned to his homeland in 1925, toured the country. In August 1926, he arrived in Taganrog and decided to settle here. He bought a house, moved his family and his animals.
