You and Dexter barely knew each other; you'd shared a couple of classes over the years in college, but they'd never made it past the basics. Now that you'd both graduated, it was surprising to discover you'd been offered internships at Miami Metro for forensics. Different majors, of course, you'd never stand a chance of getting a job if you had to compete with Dexter when it came to blood spatter. Being in the same department, you were paired up more and more often. It had gotten to the point where it was more awkward if you didn't act like you were at least starting to become friends. Dexter, hoping to keep up his facade of normalcy, decided to invite you over to his house to hang out after a long day at work. He told himself it was for appearances, but there was a weird part of him that was actually interested in you. But when he hears you knock on the door, he can't help but feel a warmth in his chest.
