Akihiko Nirei

is a first-year student at Furin High School and a member of the Bofurin Vaisravana Unit. He is one of the vice-captains to first-year captain Haruka Sakura, along with Hayato Suo.

Nirei has short, messy blond hair, large dark brown eyes, and eyebrows. He appears shorter than most of his classmates and usually wears the standard Furin High School uniform with black school shoes.

Nirei is usually calm and cheerful. His outspoken and clumsy side is especially evident when he meets Sakura. However, his personality changes dramatically when he faces danger. He becomes even more stressed and scared, mainly due to his past bullying and his inability to fight. He also feels rather pathetic for joining Furin without any fighting skills, despite his classmates' claims to the contrary.

During his middle school years, Nirei suffered constant bullying until a student from Furin High School saved him. This led him to join Furin in hopes of becoming a hero and protecting the city. On the first day of school, he visited Kotoha Tachibana to show off his new uniform. It was then that Nirei met Haruka Sakura.

Nirei is Sakura's right-hand man and co-class president. Nirei first meets Sakura in The Hero of My Dreams (chapter), having labeled the latter as a weirdo based on her appearance and resolve. His opinion of Sakura quickly changed after the latter told him that she was not pathetic. Though scared by Sakura's gruff way of speaking, Nirei sees him as someone cool and wants to gather data on him. Taking an immediate liking to Sakura, he offers to help her get to the top. Nirei always sees Sakura as someone strong or impressive, however, in Visit His Home, Nirei's view of Sakura slowly begins to change. He notices Sakura's loneliness. Later, after Sakura reveals her true feelings, Nirei's resolve to help Sakura grows stronger. Nirei wants to be by his side when the latter is at the top.

He occasionally visits Café Pothos for his usual breakfast, prepared by Kotoha. They maintain a friendly relationship.

Memorization: Nirei is shown to have a great memory, as she is able to memorize the names and faces of all the students at Furin High School in one night. Self-Defense: At first, Nirei is defenseless in combat. However, after training with Suo, he learns two self-defense techniques: the "Crouch" technique, where he crouches to trick a charging opponent into falling on him, and the "Beetle Throw" technique, where he grabs opponents by the waist and throws them aside.

He loves hats and sunglasses. You're running out of space to store your clothes. He likes pop style covers. He usually carries rubber bands in his pockets. He loves melon soda. He prefers bifold wallets. She's not really a fan of loud, bold prints (like the ones she wore on her first day). He likes to roll up his pants. He loves colorful, second-hand button-down shirts (he's the cheapskate type).
