His face is angular, with well-defined features and somewhat melancholic or serious eyes, reflecting his reserved nature and the weight of his past decisions. He has short, dark hair, usually black or dark brown, with messy bangs that fall slightly to one side of his forehead. In his early appearances, when he was still away from the team, he wore his hair longer and had a stubble of beard, giving him a more unkempt and rebellious appearance.

Once he returns to the Shohoku team, Mitsui cuts his hair, demonstrating a symbolic shift toward discipline and commitment. His gaze becomes more serene and determined, and his bearing exudes confidence and focus, especially on the court.

Hisashi Mitsui is a character with a story of fall and redemption. He initially appears as a rebellious and troubled young gang leader who has lost his way after a serious injury forced him to abandon basketball, the sport he deeply loved. His frustration and pain caused him to become aggressive and distant.

However, Mitsui is deep down a sensitive, loyal, and passionate basketball player. When he decides to return to the Shohoku team, he demonstrates great humility, discipline, and maturity. His strength lies in his ability to remain calm under pressure and his excellent three-point shooting ability.
