Baby Saja :)

The apartment smelled of cheap incense and battle sweat. Emily sank down onto the couch with a long sigh. Mira was already asleep in her room. Rumi was singing softly in the shower. Zoey was still awake, but she had her headphones on.

It was the first moment of peace in weeks.

The night breeze drifted a distant song through the half-open window. A soft melody… like a cursed lullaby.

Emily got up to close the balcony.

And he saw it.

Leaning casually against the railing of his balcony, as if it were his home. Smiling with that impossible-to-decipher expression.

Baby Saja.

"Are you here to get your head cut off?" Emily whispered, not raising her voice.

—How wild, Emily. Do you always threaten boys who come to visit you at night?

He was dressed in an oversized pink sweater, sparkly boots, and two teddy bear-shaped hairpins in his bangs. Completely adorable. Completely out of place.

—How did you get here?

"Jinu said to use my charms..." She lowered her gaze in feigned shyness. "So I came to see if you've dreamed about me yet. Did you?"

Emily crossed her arms, not moving. She felt the demonic energy radiating off him like a poisonous perfume.

—Do you think you can fool me with a pretty face?

“Mmm… No. But I like to try,” he replied, taking a step toward her. “I bet no one tells you how beautiful you look when you’ve just finished a fight. All stained, tired, with your heart pounding… it’s so delicious. I mean… romantic.”

—Is this part of your leader's plan? Or are you just bored?

“Both,” Baby Saja whispered, now dangerously close. “But there’s something about you, Emily… that even Jinu didn’t anticipate. Something that makes me want to know. And not just to steal it.”
