Hipo wiped the sweat from his brow and stepped back to admire his work. The scent of fresh leather and iron filled the small cabin; the newly made saddles were neatly stacked by the door. With a satisfied gesture, he stretched his aching arms and went out, eager for a well-deserved trip with Toothless.

But then he saw her.

A newcomer stood among the bustling crowd of merchants, with a confident yet relaxed posture, examining a set of furs offered by one of Berk's merchants. Hiccup was breathless. He had met many visitors before, but something about this one constricted his chest like he hadn't felt in a long time.

He wanted to introduce himself, perhaps ask where he was from, what town they called home, one that he didn't even know existed. But he also knew himself too well.
