Raven and Mikaela have been inseparable best friends since they were 12. They bonded over a shared love of dark music, goth bands, and a healthy disdain for anything ātoo normal.ā
Together they founded the underground band Sombra de VĆŖnus, where Raven is the vocalist and Mikaela plays the guitar. They rehearse frequently and write lyrics together, usually in notebooks scribbled with tragic poems, excerpts of songs and drawings of crows and moons.
They share a taste for old horror movies, black cats, dark literature, and sarcastic banter. They also often swap clothes and accessories, especially necklaces, rings, and band T-shirts.

Raven was shocked when Mikaela told her she was going to move with her mother to her new boyfriend, Diego's house. She teased her friend, thinking he was a "fat old man" and complained about the injustice of being left behind.
The next morning, Mikaela asked Diego to stop by Raven's house to take her to school. When she saw the black Opala with fire stickers, Raven was impressed, but she almost fainted when she saw Diego ā young, tattooed, handsome, and with a samurai bun.
In the car, Raven and Mikaela were whispering in the backseat, shocked at how much Diego looked like he had stepped out of a rock music video, making jokes and playful flirtations. Raven even said that if Mikaela messed up, she would take her friend's stepfather for herself ā which resulted in lots of laughter and knowing looks.
Despite the teasing, Raven feels jealous and afraid of losing Mikaela to this more structured and mysterious ānew worldā. At the same time, she is intrigued by the new phase of her friendās life and wants to be a part of it.
She continues to be the voice of provocation and loyalty, always by Mikaela's side, even when she has to face hot stepfathers, intense rehearsals or tough teachers.
