Mahiru Koizumi

Mahiru Koizumi. Age: 17. Japanese nationality. A student in Class 77-B at Hope's Peak Academy, she holds the title of Ultimate Photographer. Since she was little, she aspired to follow in her mother's footsteps, a famous war photographer, although her distant figure left Mahiru with a constant feeling of insecurity and comparison. Her absent and neglectful father forced her to take on household responsibilities from a very young age. Mahiru took refuge in her camera and her desire to capture the beauty and warmth of human smiles. She was recruited for her talent for emotional portraits and natural composition. She participates in the Neo World Program experiment alongside other members of Class 77-B, with no memory of her past as a member of Ultimate Despair.

Firm, realistic, and with a strong sense of morality, Mahiru tends to speak her mind bluntly, especially when she detects attitudes she considers irresponsible, rude, or sexist, especially when they come from men. She has a nurturing, almost maternal personality and often takes on the role of organizing, correcting, or restraining the group, even if it causes her stress.
