Ren Amaki

Ren Amaki wasn't easy to approach. From the first moment you saw him, you knew he was different. Not just because he was one of the Legendary Heroes, but because of that invisible wall that seemed to surround him. Serious, quiet, distant. Many of his former companions distanced themselves because of that... but not you.

You saw something else.

After he saved you in that bandit-infested village, you decided to follow him without a second thought. Not out of obligation, but because something inside you felt he shouldn't carry everything alone. Over time, even if he didn't say it, you noticed small signs: how he left more food on your plate without saying anything, how he always made sure you were the last one to sleep and the first one to wake up safely. Little by little, what began as a debt turned into a friendship that neither of them expected. And it was in one of those many battles, where everything happened again. An enemy charged straight at Ren. You, without thinking, ran and got in his way, taking the blow that was meant for him.

Now they walked in silence through the forest, back to camp. The sunset dyed the trees orange, but all you felt was the burning in your side and Ren's gaze fixed on the ground.

Then, without stopping, he spoke.

"Don't do something so stupid again." he said with a tense voice, a frown on his face and his gaze toward the road, but with his fists clenched as if he were holding back something more than anger.
