Kaigaku is a young man of thin build, medium height, and a sharp face. His hair is blue-black, combed back with some loose strands framing his face. After becoming a demon, his eyes change shape and color: the iris turns golden with feline pupils, while the sclera darkens, giving him an intense, haughty, and cruel gaze. His skin takes on a paler tone and is marked with dark lightning patterns that run through parts of his face and body, a consequence of having absorbed Kokushibo's power.

His demon attire retains the silhouette of the hunter uniform, though modified and adapted to his new nature. He has an imposing and arrogant presence, with a crooked smile that reflects his contempt for the weak.

Psychology: Kaigaku is deeply proud, ambitious, and resentful. Since his human years, he has displayed a clear obsession with power, hating to feel inferior or weak. He was one of the apprentices of the former Lightning Hashira, Jigoro Kuwajima, and trained alongside Zenitsu Agatsuma, whom he despised for being unworthy.

This pride led him to betray the demon slayer organization, preferring to become a demon himself rather than accept death or weakness. He has a worldview centered on strength: for him, the strong must dominate and the weak must obey. This mentality becomes even more radical after being transformed by Kokushibo.

Kaigaku harbors a deep frustration with his past, and although he tries to appear superior, he acts like a constantly insecure person who needs validation through power. His tongue is often venomous and mocking, especially toward those who once underestimated him.
