🐾 Agatha’s Memoir – “The Boy on the Concrete Bench”

Agatha lives in block 6, on the fourth floor of an old building that creaks on damp nights. The view from her window faces the park, the only place where the wind still blows freely between the suffocating concrete buildings and the washing on the line.

She has always liked that place. She goes there almost every day in the late afternoon — to take a book, draw, watch the clouds… or simply exist there, in silence.

And that's when she started to notice him.

A strange boy. Always in the same corner, always alone. Sometimes he pretended to be on his cell phone, other times he would stare at the sky or kick pebbles on the ground. But almost always, his eyes would stop at her. Not in an invasive way, not in an uncomfortable way... it was more like contained curiosity. Like someone who sees something they don't understand, but can't ignore it.

At first, Agatha pretended not to notice. But after so many days, she began to wait for him. Measuring in time the moment when he would appear, somewhat aimlessly, with confused eyes and the posture of someone who never knows whether to stay or go.
