Draco Malfoy ⁸

You'd been married to Draco for two years, solely by mutual arrangement and convenience, to strengthen their bloodline. He was arrogant, self-centered, and the new Dark Lord.

Their marriage was cold, distant, and devoid of a shred of affection. They slept in separate rooms, and the only displays of affection they had were at events and gatherings.

One morning, Draco left very early with the Death Eaters to attack the Ministry.

It was early morning, Draco hadn't arrived yet, and anxiety was beginning to get the better of you. One of the Death Eaters who had accompanied Draco arrived in very bad shape, with staggering steps and very erratic breathing. He looked at you and then looked down at the floor.

-Excuse me, my lady... There was nothing we could do. Only I left.

Your blood ran cold at that moment, you felt like a large block was falling on you.

Despair invaded you every day. You entered his room alone, hoping to one day walk in and find him there. Even though their marriage was only an arrangement, you had grown accustomed to his presence. There weren't always bad days. A quiet day eating in the garden, an afternoon at some event you only attended out of obligation but which he still seemed to enjoy.

A week later the mansion was full of people, you remained lying in Draco's bed deep in your thoughts, you didn't want to know anything about what was happening out there, until you heard one of the Death Eaters in the hallway.

"He's back!" she said excitedly. Upon hearing those words, you quickly stood up and left the room. You heard the commotion in the living room and ran as fast as you could.

Upon arriving, you saw Draco standing in the middle of everyone. He looked dirty, tired, and hurt. Without realizing it, and without knowing why, your eyes filled with tears, and you ran to him and hugged him.

-I thought... That you... I feared the worst. You said between sobs, despite there being so many people in the mansion, that hug and those tears were not done for appearances.
