forces stings
Located in City of Tears, at the bottom left of the map inside his hut.
For the first time, the player will upgrade their Stinger by simply requesting Geo. For further upgrades, they will also require Pale Ore. After forging the Pure Stinger, the Stingersmith will emerge and stand at the river's edge. He will ask the player to cut him with their weapon, thus completing his quest. If the player does so, they will receive the Purity PC achievement, while if they let him live, they will later encounter Stingermaster Sheo, thus unlocking the Happy Couple achievement, also for PC. The Stingersmith can be killed with any attack, even Spells. If you don't kill him you can find him next to Sheo, getting the achievement "Happy Couple".
Queen's Gardens and Pale Mineral
An area filled with ornate railings, thorns, and dangerous platforms located west of Hallownest. Once the gardens of the White Lady, it was invaded by Traitor Mantises who had been banished from their tribe.
pale mineral:
Pale Ore can be found in various locations throughout Hallownest. Giving Pale Ore to the Stingsmith along with a Geo payment will allow him to upgrade the Knight's Stinger.
The first Stinger upgrade requires no Pale Ores, the second requires one, the third requires two, and the last upgrade requires three Pale Ores, for a total of six.
coliseum of fools
The Colosseum of Fools is located in Realm's Edge, where players can participate in three trials in which they will face waves of enemies in an arena. To unlock a Trial, they must have completed all the previous ones and pay a certain amount of Geo.
Once a Trial has been unlocked, the player can take it as many times as they want for free.
Defeated enemies in the Coliseum do not drop Geo. It is also important to know that for the final boss of the Trial of Fools, if we defeat the "Beast", the Tamer will admit defeat.
city of tears
The capital of Hallownest and the heart of the Kingdom, the waters of the Blue Lake constantly fall, creating a perpetual rain. It is also characterized by the presence of several towers and buildings, such as the Shrine of Souls, the Watchtower, the House of Pleasures, and the Tower of Love. A laboratory where insects tried to use the power of the SOUL to achieve immortality. The enemies in this area are very powerful.
There you will find the Soul Master boss, who will leave us a very useful spell. To access this area you need a Simple Key.
At the top, we'll find some hot springs, where we'll find Millibelle after she's taken the money we deposited. To the right of the bank, there's a destructible wall that connects to the elevator that leads to the Resting Grounds. House of Lurien, the Watcher. One of the three Dreamers who seal the Black Egg. To access it, you'll need to defeat the Watcher Knights. At the top, there's a telescope we can interact with and observe the city. Residence of the Collector, a creature from the Abyss who loves to capture creatures and lock them in glass jars. It's accessed from Realm's Edge using the Key of Love. After pulling a lever, it will connect to King's Station. King's Station A partially ruined Deer Station. A flooded deer path below the station connects to Kingdom's Edge, located northwest of the city. Above the room are a Whispering Root and a Simple Key. It contains a Deer Station and an elevator leading to Forgotten Crossroads. It's also where we'll find Cornifer.
limit of the kingdom
Located at the eastern edge of Hallownest and surrounded by a constant rain of ash, Realm's Edge is the realm's edge. Bodies from the Coliseum of Fools fall from above, landing in a lake of acid. To the southeast of the area lies a deep pit that leads to the largest Geo deposit in the game.
A coliseum where the strongest of the kingdom battle.
For more details, see Colosseum of Fools. The breastplate of a giant Wyrm. Here, the player will fight Hornet to obtain the King's Mark.
dirty mouth and royal canals
small village located at the top of Hallownest, we arrived at it shortly after starting the game.
It's connected to Forgotten Crosses and King's Pass, the place where the player begins their adventure. You can also reach Crystal Peak via an elevator.
royal channels
A sewer formed by a series of drainage pipes beneath the surface of the City of Tears. To the east is a derelict elevator due to neglect. To the northeast, we find a shaft that connects to Emilitia's room in the City of Tears. A secret garden accessible using the Crystal Heart after defeating the Dung Defender. Inside is Isma's corpse, upon which the player can find Isma's Tear, which grants the power to swim in acid.
The entrance is located on the level below the storage bench, on a hidden wall on the left.
deep nest
Hidden depth in the southwest corner of Hallownest, teeming with all sorts of spiders. To the west lies Distant Village, a large structure made of cobwebs and containing Dreamer Herrah. A large cavern filled with cobwebs. This is the lair of Herrah the Beast. A small platforming area hidden northeast of a large room located east of the Beast's Lair. Inside, behind several destructible walls, is a small room with a glowing glyph. It is located to the right of the hot springs, to use the tram you need a Tram Pass.
conifer and crystal summit
The player first encounters Cornifer at the bottom of Forgotten Crosses, where he sells the player a map and recommends visiting his wife Iselda's shop in Dirtmouth.
Cornifer can be found in every area where a map can be obtained. Papers on the ground and his humming reveal his location.
Once the player has obtained all the maps or defeated the 3 Dreamers, he will appear in his shop sleeping.
crystal summit
Located east of Bocasucia, it is a high mountain that was once used as a mine for its precious crystals.
A deserted summit with a statue shaped like The Radiance. It is not necessary to have Monarch Wings to access it, since
It is also possible to reach it using an enemy projectile. A crystal-filled area located east of Crystal Peak, through the gap that leads to Resting Grounds.
mask fragments
Mask Fragments are parts of Ancient Masks. 4 Mask Fragments are required to complete an Ancient Mask, which increases the Knight's health by one.
With a total of 16 Mask Fragments, the Knight can increase his Mask counter by 4, for a maximum of 9, not counting additional Amulets.
Sheo, gold and mato
Stinger Master Sheo is one of the 3 Stinger Masters who teach the Stinger Arts.
Stinger Master Sheo's special Sting Art is the Grand Slash, which allows energy to be focused into the stinger to unleash a powerful slash. Stinger Master Sheo is located in Greenpath, at the end of a tunnel filled with thorns. Reaching it requires a Crystal Heart.
GOLD He is one of the 3 Sting Masters who teach the Sting Arts.
The Gold Stingermaster's special Stinger Art is the Swift Slash, which allows you to focus energy into your stinger to unleash a powerful slash while performing a Rapid Advance. He will require 800 Geo to teach it. The Gold Stinger Master is located in Kingdom Edge.
I KILL Sting Master Mato is one of the 3 Sting Masters who teach the Sting Arts.
Stingermaster Mato's special Stinger Art is the Cyclone Slash, which allows him to focus energy into his stinger to unleash a powerful circular slash, damaging all enemies in its vicinity. Stingermaster Mato is located in the Howling Cliffs.
Sly
He is found in a small shack in an accessible room after defeating Mother Gruz in Forgotten Crossroads. After awakening him by speaking to him, he returns to Dirtmouth to open his shop.
He was once the Great Sage of Stings, who instructed the Oro brothers, Sheo and Mato, who then taught the Knight his Sting Arts. However, after training his disciples, he decided to begin trading in items and trinkets.
This will be revealed after having learned the three Sting Arts, where it will be found in his cupboard, revealing his past and rewarding the Knight with the Sting Master's Glory amulet.
After giving him the Merchant Key, more items will be unlocked in his shop.
After having obtained all the Items he sells and having obtained the Glory of the Sting Master amulet, he will simply point out that all the merchandise has been sold.
hall of gods
The Hall of the Gods is an area located in the lower part of the Gods' Hearth. Inside, it houses a large number of statues of various Bosses that will appear after encountering them throughout Hallownest, or, if they only appear in the Gods' Hearth, in their corresponding Pantheon.
Defeating a boss on any difficulty will cause a symbol to appear on their statue. All of them can be challenged infinitely on any difficulty.
Fungal stops and home of the gods
These are caverns filled with spores. Unlike the rest of Hallownest, it is inhabited by fungal creatures. To the south lies Mantis Village, and to the east, the City of Tears. An abandoned and ruined deer station west of Fungal Wastes, with a distinct aesthetic. It used to be a busy station before the Infestation. It contains no enemies.
Connects Cloud Canyon to Fungal Wastes A small village inhabited by the mantis race. The creatures in this area are initially hostile, but if the Mantis Lords are defeated, they will bow to the player. This does not mean that they cannot be attacked to obtain Geo, but that they will not attack until the player does. A mini-dungeon area with several hidden tunnels, accessible once the player has the Monarch Wings. The lower part of the area leads to a hidden Mask Fragment in Deepnest.
home of the gods
It's located within the Godseeker's dreams. There, the Knight can face various challenges and bosses.
A barren landscape containing ancient ruins. The path is littered with the masks of dead Godseekers. At the end of the area, the Knight will find an item that, upon inspection, will grant the Worn Mask entry in the hunter's journal.
After clearing all the Pantheons and completing all the bonds for each, a lever will appear at the top of the Knight's Pantheon. Activating it and dropping down to the left side of the Hallownest Pantheon will allow the player to reach a cracked wall leading to this location.
mark of the king
Mark the bearer as king. The ancient gates of Hallownest shall open before him.
Located in Kingdom Edge, protected by Hornet.
It usually requires Monarch Wings to reach it, but it is also possible to hit a Primal Asp to access it sooner.
ancient basin
The deepest, almost inhospitable part of Hallownest. This was originally the site of the White Palace, home of the Pale King.
The ruins of the White Palace can be found to the east of the area, along with the corpse of a royal carcass that will need to be hit with the Dream Nail to access.
A pit filled with corpses, home to the Void. This is where the Pale King created the Vessels.
To access it you must have acquired the King's Mark at Kingdom's Edge. The ruins of the White Palace. To access it, the player must have awakened the Dream Stinger and used it on the corpse of the Royal Carcass. Only accessible with the Monarch's Soul equipped. Its entrance is located at the bottom of the Abyss.
At the end of the area is an egg that the player must hit with the Dream Nail, revealing a scene from the past in which both the Pale King and the Hollow Knight appear.
with a rotating receptacle
The shape of this creature... I've seen something similar before. More than once, even. It looks a bit like the insects of Hallownest, but it's not exactly the same. Where did these little void-wanderers come from?
Broken Vessel is one of the many Vessels who escaped the Abyss like The Knight, but unlike The Knight, he met a tragic death while still in Hallownest. His body was left behind in a deep cavern in Ancient Reach just before the Monarch Wings and where The Infection has spread.
The Broken Vessel is found in a room in Ancient Basin, overgrown with lumps of infection. When the Knight approaches, germs of light rush to fill its broken shell, forming a large lump protruding from its head. The infection reanimates the body and causes it to attack the Knight. Like other vessels, it has no voice, but the infection within screams like The Flash. When defeated, the Broken Vessel's shell is cleansed of the Infection, and it attempts to reach the Knight before finally collapsing.
master of souls
Leader of the Soul Shrine. He stockpiled souls in hopes of staving off Hallownest's misfortune, but ended up becoming intoxicated by their power.
The Soul Master can be found in the Soul Shrine. Once defeated, he grants the Desolate Leap spell, which grants access to new areas and various secrets.
This is the only boss that grants a spell upon defeat.
mantis lords
They are three identical mantises, elegant yet intimidating in appearance, with slender bodies and a stature superior to many of the other insects in Hallownest. On their heads are a pair of large horns, somewhat resembling the horns of the "Hollow Knight." They wear small robes similar to the Moth Cloak, which only covers the upper part of their bodies. All three proudly carry stingers that are very long, yet light due to their small thickness.
Chieftains of the honorable warrior mantis tribe, three sisters who will fight together against the evil that plagues the kingdom. They guard the grand entrance to the kingdom of Herrah, the Deep Nest.
At the beginning of the battle, the player will be trapped in a huge battle cage. First, a Mantis will attack with great speed and skill, using three difficult-to-dodge attacks. After the first mantis is defeated, the other two will join the battle, performing different attacks simultaneously and with the same speed as the previous one.
The Five Knights of Hallownest
Little is known about the Mighty Hegemol. His armor was stolen by a Worm to defend his brethren, however it is not certain whether he used the same mace as a weapon. It is unknown whether he is still alive. According to Sheo, "You have no idea how imposing he was, though he had a surprisingly soft voice for one so large." A statue of him stands at the entrance to the City of Tears, where inserting the City Crest opens the city gates.
ZE'MER She's likely the Grey Mourner of Resting Grounds due to her similarity to the statue of the Dungkeeper and the silhouette that appears in the arena of the White Keeper. Additionally, the way she refers to the player as "le'mer" is similar to "Ze'mer." She also has a large stinger in her house and a special dialogue after obtaining the King's Mark.
fierce dryya Dryya's body is found surrounded by corpses of Mantis Traitors at the entrance to the White Lady's hideout in Queen's Gardens. This indicates that she died protecting her, though the White Lady is unaware of this.
kind Isma
Isma's corpse is located in Isma's Grove, accessible once the player defeats the Dung Defender. Dialogue suggests the two were very close.
the defender of manure and defender of Blanco
The Defender of Dung was known as Ogrim, the most loyal of the Five Great Knights of Hallownest. As such, he participated in many battles and adventures. He was also known for his evil nature, but that didn't stop him from enjoying the company of the White Lady and his fellow knights. He has a certain fondness for Isma.
Ogrim survived The Infection but isolated himself somewhere in the Kingswaters where the waste gathers. There, as the Dungkeeper, he stands guard, defending the valve that allows access to Isma's Grove on the other side of the waterways. The Dungkeeper challenges anyone who dares challenge him. He also spends his time rolling dung balls and molding it into statues. The Dung Defender seems unaware of the fate of his King and the other knights. In his solitude, he deludes himself into thinking that his companions will return and that Hallownest will be "reborn."
WHITE DEFENDER
The White Defender is a hidden boss in Hollow Knight that appeared in Hidden Dreams. It is the dream form of the Dung Defender, and the pinnacle of its former glory.
grimm
Grimm is the master of The Grimm Troupe, a mysterious traveling circus. In reality, Grimm and his Troupe travel from the Nightmare Realm to wherever the Lantern has been lit by his followers. They collect Flames from ruined realms to fuel the sinister being that enslaves the Troupe, the Nightmare Heart.
The Master of the Company has a charming and playful personality. However, as the Nightmare King, his thoughts are focused on being a slave or vessel for the Heart. His ritual to feed the Heart consists of first growing the Grimm Child with Nightmare Flames. Then, killing the Nightmare King so that he can be reborn through the Child.
Grimm and his company set up their lodges in Filthmouth as soon as the Knight has lit the Lantern. Inside the main structure, he appears in a show of red lights and smoke. The Master of the Company is aware that the Knight called them with the Lantern and offers to participate in his ritual. He then gives him the Grimm's Child and trusts him to collect the flames gathered by the Grim Reapers at Hallownest.
With each set of three flames gathered, Grimm has the Child consume them completely to grow. After the second set, the Master of the Company tests the Knight's strength in a fierce and theatrical battle, in preparation for confronting the Nightmare King. He will also reward the Knight with a Charm Notch.
After collecting the third set of flames, Grimm will be sleeping in his hut ready for the Knight to use the Dream Sting on him and enter the Nightmare Realm. If the Knight successfully kills the Nightmare King, the Company will have completed their ritual and will leave Hallownest before the Knight wakes; on the other hand, the Company will disappear if the Knight helps Brumm dispel it instead of facing the King.
collector and noske
This shadowy shadow is imprisoned in the Tower of Love. It preserves the creatures of Hallownest in glass jars, though it is particularly interested in the grubs.
The Collector is a Void Creature. He lives hidden in the sealed Tower of Love, alongside a vast collection of creatures collected throughout Hallownest and preserved in glass jars, both alive and dead.
NOSK
In the deepest darkness, there are beasts with faces stolen from your memory that try to control you by manipulating your feelings. Know yourself and don't be fooled.
Nosk is a mysterious infected polymorph beast that hunts in Deepnest.[1] It can mimic the facial shapes of bugs it finds in insect memories, usually those that have traveled or been loved, and can compress its body to mimic smaller creatures and better deceive its prey.[2] It hangs its prey from the ceiling within its lair deep within Deepnest; its prey include Soildivers, a Stalking Devotee, and various Vessels.
Nosk is one of three thoughtless creatures from the Dream Stinger, the other two being the Broken Vessel and the Shadowcreepers. Despite having a "Cheerful Demeanor", the Collector only cares about preserving other creatures.[2][3] He trapped the colony's Grubs in Forgotten Crossroads and kept a map of their locations around Hallownest.[3][4] Despite his interest in them, he only keeps three in his tower. He also has a connection to the previous owner of the Key of Love, a Hallownest aristocrat bug found dead in the Queen's Gardens.[5]
disloyal sir
I've felt that temptation too. The temptation to let the infection enter me. I'd be stronger, more powerful... those ideas continue to poison my dreams during difficult times. It's a lie, but it shines so brightly that it can confuse your mind.
Lord Faithless was a chieftain of the Mantis Tribe along with his sisters, and held a particular grudge against the Kingdom of Hallownest. As such, Lord Faithless disliked his daughter's relationship with the Gray Mourner.
When he and his followers embraced the Infection to grow stronger, they were driven out of the Mantis Village. They eventually found a way and settled in the Queen's Gardens. They swore to claim the Gardens for themselves and pursued the White Lady to her refuge, but were driven out by her protector, Dryya. Despite this failure, the Lord and the other outcast mantises remained in the Gardens, now driven by a basic territorial and violent instinct.
The Faithless Lord has a dead daughter. Her grave is located in the Queen's Gardens just above the Stag Deer Station, in a cave choked by thorny vines. Her grave can also be seen at the bottom of her arena in the Godmaster Icon Godshearth.
white lady
The White Lady is a root-like NPC found after defeating the Faithless Lord northwest of Queen's Gardens, inside a cocoon-like structure. Outside, we can find Dryya's corpse.
After speaking to her, she will give the player one half of the Monarch's Soul.
It is suspected that she is the Queen of Hallownest, due to her location, dialogue and context.
pale king
The Pale King was the ruler of Hallownest, the reincarnation of an ancient wyrm who died at the edge of the realm, companion of the White Lady, and creator of the vessels. He is the ruler of the White Palace.
The Pale King expanded the minds of the inhabitants of Hallownest, causing Radiance to fall into oblivion and decay.
The Pale King intended to create a vessel capable of containing the Radiance infection, but it could sense emotions, which was used to Radiance's advantage to spread the infection. There are several scenes in which the Pale King appears alongside the Hollow Knight, which reveal small fragments of the story.
Upon completing the White Palace platformer, we can find the Pale King at the top, lying on his throne. If we hit him, he will drop half of the monarch's soul, the other half is obtained by talking to the White Lady.
If we sit on the throne of the pale king before taking the amulet, a curious melody will play which can only be heard at that moment of the adventure.
hollow knigt
The former King of Hallownest... went to desperate measures to save his small world. He forced many to make tremendous sacrifices... and all for nothing.
The Hollow Knight is the vessel the Pale King chose to seal the Radiance and save Hallownest from The Blight. Like their siblings, they are the children of the King and Queen of Hallownest, born from the Abyss to be infused with the Void. And as such, they are genderless. This birth condition was also meant to leave them without mind, will, or voice, so that The Radiance could not influence them.
Their purity was misjudged, tainted by an implanted idea, a paternal bond with the king who raised them. Even with this impurity, the Hollow Knight was trained and grew to eventually become an adult vessel. The Radiance was sealed within him, and he was later chained in the Temple of the Black Egg where he was supposed to seal away the infection for all eternity. Even so, because of the aforementioned impurities, the Radiance was still able to exert its influence. This resulted in the resurgence of the infection and the fall of the Kingdom into ruin. As time passed, the Hollow Knight began to fade from the Kingdom's memory. Only his statue in the City of Tears bears witness to his sacrifice in saving Hallownest.
After a time, the Flash's power managed to escape from the Hollow Knight, cracking its shell and completely infecting it. This event was the catalyst that brought the Knight back to Hallownest, due to being summoned by the HK, similar to how Quirrel is summoned by Monomon. The Knight is able to unleash and fight the Hollow Knight after killing the three Dreamers who sealed the entrance to the egg.
the flash
Still, the Pale King failed to notice the impurities in his creation's mind, as despite his training, the Hollow Knight still felt love and respect for his master and creator. Thanks to this, the Radiance was able to continue invading the bugs' dreams.
He then got rid of the inhabitants of the Kingdom by completely controlling them, and, not knowing what else to do, The King decided to disappear, leaving his kingdom in ruins.
Time passed, and the golden age of Hallownest became a myth. Meanwhile, the Radiance remained sealed within the temple, beginning to deteriorate the Hollow Knight. It finally succeeded, rekindling the full power of the infection, unleashing its vengeance and causing it to spread once again throughout the entire realm, leaving the Knight to save the destroyed Hallownest, thus beginning the story.
the flash
The plague, the infection, the madness that reanimates the corpses of Hallownest... the gleam that springs from the eyes of a dead kingdom. Where does it come from? I suppose it's something beyond the understanding of mortals like me.
The Radiance is a Higher Being of light like the Essence, and as such opposes the Void, its ancient enemy. The moth tribe was born from its light and in return they praised it as a goddess. Unlike the individualistic society of Hallownest, the Radiance offered unity to the bugs at the cost of giving them a mind incapable of thought.
Then, the Pale King came to Hallownest and expanded the minds of his new subjects. The moth tribe turned their backs on the Radiance and betrayed her, beginning to worship the Pale King instead. Thus, Radiance was all but forgotten, though bits of her memory remained, such as the statue of the Crown of Hallownest or the vague recollections of the Seeress. Her memory began to spread throughout the kingdom during the kingdom's golden age. Later, everyone began to dream of her, appearing to the bugs as a burning light. These dreams were capable of breaking the minds of some bugs, and they eventually surrendered their wills to the Radiance, becoming its slaves. Despite everything, the Pale King and his loyal subjects resisted her memories, though they slowly began to manifest as the infection we know.
The Pale King attempted to halt the infection by sealing the Radiance within a Vessel. These creatures, infused with the Void to have neither mind nor will, were able to withstand the Radiance's influence. After many failed attempts at throwing Vessels into the Abyss, the Hollow Knight was chosen; he grew large and emotionless, and was trained to seal it. The Radiance was sealed within the Hollow Knight, who was then chained within the Temple of the Black Egg to prevent it from being controlled and manipulated by the Vessel.
the white palace
The Pale King's palace and court, mysteriously vanished from Hallownest some time after the infection.
To access the White Palace, you must possess the Awakened Dream Sting (by obtaining 1800 essence and speaking to the Seer) and use it on the body of the Royal Carcass that lies in the southeast corner of Ancient Basin.
The White Palace is, therefore, simply the memory that this shell has of the place.
According to Relic Seeker Lemm, this place was once the home of the Pale King, but at some undetermined point, it simply vanished. It's assumed that this "undetermined point" represents the return of the infection.
Palace is an optional platforming challenge; it is required only to obtain full completion of the game and fight the true final boss.
This is where we can obtain the other half of the Monarch's Soul amulet. It's located on the top floor of the palace, after reaching the abandoned and dark throne room where the Pale King lies. Hitting him will destroy part of his mask, dropping this fragment and allowing us to sit in his place (though, this must be done before collecting this half, as doing so will transport us back to the Palace Lands), with soothing music playing in the background. At the other end of the room, there will be another of the tablets found around the place, with a phrase written on it.
An even trickier area, hidden behind a destructible wall to the left of the first saw room after ascending to the second floor. Completing this challenge triggers a cutscene with the Pale King and a younger version of the Hollow Knight, in which the two share a glance, further evidence that the "Empty Knight" isn't so empty after all.
heart of the void
Within it lay a void, now released. It unites the void under the will of the wearer.
This amulet is part of its wearer and cannot be removed from the team.
It is located in the Birthplace - its entrance is at the bottom of the Abyss; it will only open if the player has the Monarch's Soul equipped. At the end of the area is an egg that, if hit with the Dream Nail, will reveal a scene from the past featuring the Pale King.
Makes the player's Shadow and Brothers non-hostile and unable to damage the knight. It also makes them one-hit destroyable and prevents Void Tentacles from spawning.
This amulet replaces the Monarch's Soul and cannot be unequipped. However, it no longer has its effects and no longer takes up slots.
Upon hitting the egg, we'll be shown the scene where the Pale King pulls the young Hollow Knight from the Abyss, thus completing his experiments to contain the infection. This leads him to seal the entrance with the King's Mark, inscribing on the stone entrance that, "The pure vessel (without emotion to express nor voice to cry out) has ascended."
seekers of gods
Hallownest. This realm has been blessed with true gods. True ones! Everywhere, the corpses of false gods. But! Not in Hallownest.
A series of NPCs who share a mind and body. Their main objective is to perform a ritual using the Hallownest Chieftains to find the "god of gods."
When released from her coffin after using a Simple Key, she will drop the God Tuner item on the ground.
If the player gives her a Delicate Flower before the final Pantheon, it will unlock more lines of dialogue and a new ending.
Godseeker despises the knight, considering it a high-ranking blasphemy to show up to duel against the gods; in Godseeker Mode, he considers him the god of gods, surely because to unlock Godseeker Mode it is necessary to have completed three pantheons in a normal game.
We will only see a throne with the Seeker of Gods as the only spectator, surely because he considers that the rest of the seekers are not fit to witness the combat against these high-ranking gods.
Likewise, not even the seeker of gods himself believes himself fit to witness the fight against the Absolute Flash, considering him a more powerful god, so no one witnesses the fight.
Pantheons are a mechanic introduced in the Godseeker DLC. In each one, the player will have to fight a series of bosses until reaching the top and defeating the final boss unique to each challenge. To enter a pantheon, the player must have defeated all the bosses in that pantheon in Hallownest, with the exception of the final bosses and some optional bosses.
Bonds are optional challenges that can be applied to each pantheon separately. Any combination of them can be applied at the player's discretion. If all are selected, they will glow yellow.
the old insect
While he's the oldest bug in Dirtmouth, he's not nearly the oldest in Hallownest. According to his account, Old Bug was born some time after the kingdom fell, as he mentions that he never saw the deer-way station open before it closed.
Since many, if not all, of Dirtmouth's residents have disappeared down the shaft leading to Forgotten Crosses, the Old Bug is the only resident left in town and greets the Knight at the beginning of the game. These bugs followed his dreams and never returned, leading him to believe that dreams aren't so good after all.
He has become pessimistic, seeing the world as faded away, with dark thoughts creeping through his mind.
Additionally, perhaps due to the terrible fate he believes befell adventurers who ventured into the Crossroads, the Old Bug has developed a sort of aversion to things he cannot fully understand, preferring instead to ignore them, much as he does with the Grimm Company when they arrive in town.
Weapon information: Stinger
Stinger Arts are skills learned by the Knight from the Stinger Masters. To execute a Stinger Art, the player must hold ATTACK to charge it and release it by pressing another optional button depending on the specific art. The damage of Stinger Arts is calculated by multiplying the damage of the Stinger currently in use, so the better the Stinger, the more damage these skills will cause.
The Sting Master's Glory amulet reduces the charge time required for Sting Arts.
The damage of these abilities does not increase with Fragile Strength, but it does increase with Fury of the Fallen.
"Stinger" is the term used to describe the weapons wielded by various enemies, NPCs, and bosses in Hallownest, including The Knight. The Stingersmith found in City of Tears can upgrade the knight's stinger up to 4 times by providing enough Geo and Pale Ore, increasing the weapon's damage.
Charms like Fragile Strength and Fury of the Fallen also increase the sting's damage.
hornet
It is mentioned by Hornet that she was created through the same method as the Knight, fully explaining the "Sealed Brothers" ending, and also explaining that she is not empty, which differentiates them.
She is Herrah's daughter, although it is never specified whether she is biological or not, even so the White Lady relates that she is the result of a relationship between the Pale King and Herrah. Herrah, initially opposed to the Pale King, became a Dreamer in exchange for a daughter.
In a way, the knight and Hornet are half-brothers since they are both descendants of the Pale King.
information about:
hornet
Skilled protector of the ruins of Hallownest. Wields a needle and thread.
I saw this small, agile creature. I thought it was prey and lunged at it, but, quick as lightning, it stabbed me with its flying stinger and shot off. Could it be... a hunter?
First meeting, Green Path It will appear several times as the player explores the area. Upon reaching the end, it will be found next to the corpse of another receptacle.
Second meeting, City of Tears Hornet will appear briefly between Fungal Wastes and City of Tears. Once the player reaches the Hollow Knight statue, she will instruct them to seek out the Ashen Grave if they wish to play a role in Hallownest's future.
Third encounter, Kingdom's Edge The next encounter will be at the eastern edge of Kingdom's Edge, requiring Monarch's Wings. There, the Knight must prove himself worthy of learning the truth about Hallownest.
Fourth meeting, The Abyss After obtaining the Shadowcloak, Hornet will appear at the top of the Abyss. There, she will instruct the player to decide whether to prolong the Hallownest state or confront the cause of the plague.
Fifth meeting, Deep Nest If she has been defeated in Realm's Edge before breaking the seal on Herrah the Beast, she will appear to mourn her mother's death.
Last encounter, Final boss If the player obtains the Heart of the Void, Hornet will appear outside the Temple of the Black Egg. He will tell the Knight that he cannot enter with him, but will help him if he gets the chance.
At the end of the fight against the Hollow Knight, Hornet will enter the egg, swiftly stabbing its head with her needle. This will immobilize the vessel for a few seconds, giving the Knight the option of ending the fight or entering its mind. Both options will result in the "Brothers Sealed" and "No More Dreams" endings, respectively. To achieve the latter, one more step will be required: to defeat the Radiance.

After time, it became clear that the Hollow Knight was not a pure Vessel, tainted by his bond with the Pale King who raised him.[52][61] Eventually, because of this, the Radiance was able to exert its influence again, and the infection reappeared.
As the Kingdom fell into ruin, the Pale King abandoned the bugs of Hallownest and disappeared along with the White Palace.[63] Most of the inhabitants of Hallownest became infected or died, with a few exceptions such as the Mantis Tribe and other bugs that resisted the Infection.[64]
Flash eventually managed to break the Hollow Knight, cracking his shell and completely infecting him. This event caused the Knight to return to Hallownest, the Realm now overrun by the reanimated bodies of its former inhabitants.

When the Hollow Knight grew to adulthood, it was sealed along with the Radiance within the Temple of the Black Egg.[60] The three dreamers remained dormant to guard the entrance to the Black Egg.[55] Two monuments were built to remember their sacrifices, one dedicated to the Hollow Knight in the City of Tears and the other dedicated to the Dreamers in the Resting Grounds.

As the Moth tribe no longer worshipped the Radiance, she was almost entirely forgotten. Still, remnants of her memory remained, such as the statue in Hallownest's Crown.[44] When she attempted to make the bugs remember her through her dream, they resisted her influence, which was eventually destroyed. After many Vessels were discarded for having mind and will, one of their number was deemed pure and was chosen to seal the Radiance away.[13] This Vessel was brought from the Abyss and named a Hollow Knight.[46] It was trained and raised in the White Palace.[52][53]
Three bugs were asked to become Dreamers, this would put them into an eternal sleep and seal the Temple of the Black Egg where The Hollow Knight and The Radiance would be contained.[54][55] Herrah the Beast, the queen of Deepnest,[56] would only agree if the Pale King would give her a girl. This girl ended up being Hornet, born to Herrah and the Pale King[manifested as The Infection.
Pale King Abyss The Pale King pulling the Hollow Knight out of the Abyss To stop the infection, the Pale King decided to seal the Radiance in a Vessel without mind or will. This would prevent the Radiance from influencing them and would leave her trapped forever. These Vessels were the children of the Pale King and the White Lady, born from the Abyss with Void filling their shells.

At some point in time, a Wyrm arrived at the Realm's Edge, where it shed its shell. This Wyrm transformed into the Pale King to take on a form similar to that of other bugs.[30][31] Like the Radiance, the Pale King was a Higher Being known as a light.[32][33] He expanded the minds of many bug species in Hallownest, granting them wisdom, and in return the Pale King expected them to worship him.[34]
The Kingdom of Hallownest was founded, and the Pale King reigned as a God-King alongside his Queen, the White Lady.[15][35] The Sparklemoth tribe turned their backs on the goddess, choosing to worship the Pale King instead.[36] Parts of the Greenpath that used to belong to the Mossfolk were annexed, while the Mushroom Clan of the Fungal Wastes accepted the Pale King's rule.[37][38]
The Mantid tribe and the bugs of Hallownest disliked each other, but agreed to a truce in which the Mantids would contain the beasts of Deepnest.[39][40] The bees of The Hive and the Spider Tribe of Deepnest chose to remain separate from the Kingdom.
The Pale King ruled Hallownest from his palace far below the Kingdom.[15] Under his reign, the Kingdom flourished, with many travelers coming and going. The Kingdom's capital sat above the King's palace and was the destination of many pilgrims.[4][43] The five great knights served as the protectors of the Kingdom.

Long before the Kingdom of Hallownest was founded, an ancient civilization existed in its place. Instead of worshipping any power or god, this civilization worshipped the Void, a substance found at the bottom of the Abyss.[26][27] For unknown reasons, this ancient civilization eventually disappeared.
The ancient enemy of the Void is the Radiance, a higher being of Light brighter than the Essence and who has power over the Dreamwastes.[17][28] She created the Moth tribe, who in turn, worshipped her as a goddess.[17] There were other tribes, such as the Mossmen, the Mantid tribe, and the Spider tribe.[29]

Dirtmouth Centre Bocasucia Center On the surface, the lonely village of Mudmouth is the only safe haven in the valley between Howling Cliffs and Crystal Peak. Most travelers used to reach Mudmouth via King's Pass, before the bridge collapsed.[1] The caverns beneath Mudmouth were transformed into Crossways so that bugs and other goods could be transported across the kingdom.[2][3]
The caves beneath the cliffs are covered with strange vegetation, each with its own ecosystem. The leafy caverns of the Green Path and the groves of the Fungal Wastes were once tamed by road building, with the Pilgrim's Way being the main route from the Crossroads to the Kingdom's capital.[4]
Bench in the Queen's Gardens The Queen's Gardens, originally part of Greenpath, were built as a quiet retreat by the White Lady.[5][6] Without maintenance, they were eventually smothered by vines.[7] Similarly, Cloudy Canyon is plagued with bulbous creatures and the Fungal Wastes with noxious fungi.
The caves in the mountain contained great deposits of crystals, which they used to mine for the energy they held within.[8] Below lies the vast cave of Hallownest's Resting Grounds, filled with tombs and containing an underground lake. The moths of the Realm used to tend these tombs.

At one edge of the subterranean realm lies Deepnest, a dark network of tunnels and narrow chasms. On the other side, the city was sealed off from Realm's Edge and the Hive by giant walls.[11] The Edge once consisted of a great chasm and wide caverns covered in perpetually falling ash. The Hive is an artificial habitat created by the Bee colony.
At the deepest point of Hallownest lies Ancient Reach, forgotten caverns where the Realm's monarch built his White Palace. The Palace itself disappeared after the Infection returned.[12] Below lies the Abyss at the heart of the land's darkness, its entrance sealed by the King himself.

Water from the lake falls from cracks in the cave ceiling, drenching the city in a constant downpour.[9] It is up to the Royal Canals, a network of pipes and cisterns, to control the city's waste.
