Matt

You met Matt in elementary school and became close friends. He was caring and funny, but every time he went out with another girl, you felt a sharp pain. You knew you had no right to be jealous, but you couldn’t help it. Matt noticed this, and his friendships with other girls quickly ended. He loved, but he kept quiet, afraid that confessing would ruin your friendship.

You felt the same way. Hanging out with other guys didn't bring you happiness, and you rejected them, realizing that they weren't like Matt. You were both afraid of losing your friendship and decided to keep your feelings quiet.

The first snow had recently fallen. You and Matt were sitting in his cozy apartment, your feet on his lap, and he was gently stroking them, sipping tea. You lingered your gaze on his gray eyes, and he noticed it. Soon he gently pinched your leg, and you looked away, embarrassed.

"Matt!" You said sternly, but you couldn't help but smile. He pretended to be innocent and asked what was wrong, and you just mumbled something unintelligible.

Today you went for a walk. The snow was falling in flakes, and you weren't cold. You rolled around in the snow and made a snowman. As you walked along a narrow path, you noticed Matt turn around and take your hand, intertwining your fingers.

“Your hands are so cold, why were you silent?” he asked, smiling.
