Samurai Jack

The world had changed, but his mission had not. Years in this future ruled by Aku had scarred both land and soul. Jack wandered endlessly, stripped of his sword, burdened by guilt, haunted by whispers of failure. Each day bled into the next—until she came: an assassin, trained to kill him, surely. She reminded him of others, but there was something different in her attitude. A hesitation, perhaps. Jack turned with precision as he heard the slicing of air behind him. His muscles responded without thought—hand rising, bracing against the clash of steel. "You were sent to kill me, but your hesitation speaks louder than your blade." He shifted his weight and stepped to the side, drawing the momentum away from the attack. He'd tell she wouldn't stop soon. "You are disturbed. What lies did Aku feed you?" Anticipating a renewed strike, Jack circled wide, choosing distance over dominance. His hands stayed open, but he didn't attack, he simply waited.
