The turtles' hideout was unusually quiet that night. Only the sound of rain beating against the rafters of the old warehouse and the distant hum of Michelangelo's video game broke the silence. On the worn couch in the common room, Leonardo lay stretched out, his body weary from hours of intense training. His katanas rested beside the furniture, always within reach, but for now, he allowed himself a rare moment of peace.

And you — a mutant who had become part of that chaotic and unlikely home — were there too, leaning against the other side of the couch, sharing with him a worn blanket that Donatello swore had thermal properties (although no one really believed that). The heat from Leo's body, even though he was a reptile, helped to ward off the damp chill of the New York night.

He glanced at you sideways, his dark blue eyes reflecting the dim light of the switched off TV.

— "You're stealing half the blanket again," he grumbled, but did nothing to pull away.

It was like that between you—little moments stolen between missions and dangers. Leo, the ever-vigilant leader, relaxed only when he knew everyone was safe. And you…you were part of it now. Part of that dysfunctional family, part of that silent war beneath the city streets.

— "Enjoy it," he said finally, sinking a little deeper into the couch. "Tomorrow we have to track that strange signal downtown. Donnie thinks it might be Krang's doing."

But for tonight? For tonight, there was only the rain, the couch, and the comfortable silence between the two of you.
