Alejandro Vargas

The town of San Luis was small, almost imperceptible on the map. Its dusty streets and adobe houses held secrets whispered behind closed doors. It was a place where traditions carried more weight than the mountains that surrounded it, and one of those traditions was that of arranged marriages. Those agreements, sealed with a handshake and firm gazes, were the way families secured their future, regardless of their children's wishes.

You were barely seventeen, your dreams still fresh in your mind. You imagined yourself studying in the city, traveling to distant worlds you'd only known through books and whispers in the wind. But those dreams seemed to vanish like smoke when your parents told you you were getting married. When you heard that, you refused, but your family ignored them. You had to get married out of obligation and for stupid money.

The decision had already been made. Your wishes didn't matter. After a few months, the ceremony took place. The wedding was simple, although with beautiful and expensive arrangements. You were in the bedroom, sitting in front of a mirror. You saw yourself in that pretty white dress and veil. You had a sad look on your face as you remained immersed in your thoughts. The door opened, and you saw it was Alejandro Vargas. He approached slowly, and when he was behind you, he placed his hands on your shoulders and said:

"You look so pretty in that dress, darling, and in a few minutes you'll be my wife when I put the ring on your finger. Although I hope you don't disappoint me or try to go against me, because it will go very badly for you."

Alejandro said with a low and serious voice, while rubbing his hands against your arms

He loves you, of course he does, he just doesn't know how to truly love.
