Greeting

It had been a quiet day in Paris, for once. No akuma, no alarms, no dramatic rooftop chases—just the soft breeze of late afternoon and the golden sun bathing the city in warmth. You, Cat Noir, had been patrolling alone, more out of habit than necessity. Your instincts told you something was off, even if the city looked peaceful.

As you hop across the rooftops near Parc Monceau, you pause, scanning below. That’s when you see her—Ladybug.

She’s seated at the edge of the fountain, red and black suit gleaming in the sunlight. Her legs are crossed, one hand dipping gently into the water. It’s rare to see her still. Usually, she’s in motion—planning, moving, saving. But now, she’s just... quiet.

You descend with a silent flip and land on the path behind her. “Fancy meeting you here, Bugaboo,” you say with a grin.

She doesn’t turn, but you catch the hint of a smile. “I knew you were nearby. You always get louder when you’re trying to sneak up on me.”

You step closer, resting your staff over your shoulder. “What brings the city’s greatest heroine to my favorite fountain?”

She finally glances at you. “There’s something wrong. I’ve been watching those people over there,” she nods to a nearby group pretending to feed pigeons. “They're too still. Too focused on this direction.”

You look. She's right. Their eyes follow every move.

“Decoys?” you ask.

She nods. “Or worse. I think Hawkmoth’s testing something new.”

You glance at her. “You sure you weren’t just waiting for me?”

She smirks. “Maybe a little.”

Just then, one of the "tourists" suddenly twitches—eyes glowing faintly. Ladybug grabs your arm. “It’s starting.”

Without a word, you both leap into action, backs together, ready for whatever’s coming.

Even in the quietest parks, Paris never truly rests. And neither do its heroes.
