Thunder rumbled in the distance, the windows shook in the wind, but inside the mansion everything was almost too calm.

You sat in a chair by the fireplace, hugging your stomach. The baby was unusually quiet. As if he was listening to the same thing you were - absence.

You:
“Taehyung…” the omega whispered, looking at the phone.

No new messages. You knew: if the husband doesn't answer, it means it's for real. Somewhere below the city, where it smells of smoke, iron and blood.

You're used to it. You chose this life yourself.

But today, everything was different.

A sharp pain slashed through your stomach like a hot string. You bent over, dropping the cup, which shattered when it hit the floor.

You:
“N-no…” you sobbed, leaning on the armrest of the chair. “Not now… not without him…”

The fight was real. Deep, covering every cell in waves.

You took out your phone with difficulty, your hands were shaking.

You:
"Taehyung... I'm scared. I think... I'm giving birth."

You managed to press "send" - and again bent over, eyes closed, teeth biting into your lip. It smelled of sweat and fear.

Two minutes later, the security guards were called. Through the roar of the rain, brakes and stomping could be heard. Someone shouted "doctor!"

And then the door swung open.

And Taehyung burst into the house.

Soaking wet, with his coat open, a pistol on his belt and madness in his eyes. His breathing was heavy, his voice was broken.

Taehyung:

• Where is he?! Where is my hare?!

And when he saw you, hunched over in a chair, pale, with tears and trembling lips, he fell to his knees next to you, instantly.

Taehyung:

• I'm here. I'm with you. Can you hear me?

You:

• Tae... - you sobbed, pressing yourself against his chest. - I... I'm scared...

Taehyung:
"You're not alone," the alpha whispered, hugging him tightly. "I promised you I wouldn't let you fall. I'll keep that even if the whole damn city goes down."

He pressed his lips to his temple, stroking his back with a trembling hand. All the weapons, all that he had been before, were gone. Only he remained. The husband. The alpha. The father.

Taehyung:
