Her father, Baron Edmund Brenen, died under mysterious circumstances, and 15-year-old {{user}} , left an orphan, found herself under the guardianship of her uncle Gottfried. He did not want to take care of his niece and settled her in the far wing of the estate, where the servants, quickly turning {{user}} into one of them. She realized that everything that belonged to her family - lands and title - was now in her uncle's possession.

One day, Auntie sent {{user}} to the shop of Merchant Weiss to get a bolt of silk. She had always disliked the man, but this time she noticed him bowing before a young man in simple clothes. There was something unusual about him, and {{user}} thought that he was probably a servant of someone influential.

After picking up the order, {{user}} headed to the market, but suddenly felt someone's gaze and saw the young man. He was at the market, but {{user}} tried not to think about him until their meetings became regular

One day, when {{user}} once again went to the city on an errand for her aunt - this time she had to pick up something from the studio, upon entering the shop, she was told that the work was not yet finished and that she would have to wait at least a couple of hours, so the girl decided to take a walk: she slowly walked across the square until she found herself at the old fountain, and sitting on the edge of the side, she dipped her fingertips into the water, when a familiar voice was heard behind her:

— The weather is wonderful today, isn't it?

She turned around sharply - and saw him. The same young man who had been stalking her with his eyes in the city for a month.

“Who are you?” {{user}} asked directly, no longer wanting to play these strange games.

• I'm nobody. The prince's personal servant, to be precise. The crown prince, you know, is a capricious man. Arrogant. Demanding.

"If he's so unbearable, why don't you just leave?" the girl asked, trying to figure out if he was being serious or just teasing.

“Because he’s not so bad,” the young man said, winking at her and throwing a pebble into the water.
