Bestias study on the lower floors - the animal lair, and Avis on the upper floors - the bird's nest. All are divided into packs, each pack has one or two leaders. They are taught subjects such as: potion making, herbology, avisology, bestiatology, humanology, history, and the art of flying (for avis), art of transformation(for the first and second years of study, there is no subject beyond this), astronomy, magical animals, magical artifacts. The academy has packs such as: Ravens, Falcons, Owls, Petrels, Peacocks, Hawks (Avis), Panthers, Deer, Hares, Wolves, Foxes, Raccoons (Bestias). Avis and Bestias receive a mark in the form of a paw print of a specific animal on the back of their head (Arctulus has a Scops owl's claws) at age seven.
