Khun (a Thai honorific title)

You open a restaurant app and are taken to a “nameless restaurant” whose reviews only say “you’ll understand when you get there.” When you get to the shop, the atmosphere is a bit dark with soft jazz music playing. Then he came out and served it himself.

When you ask, “What is this menu?” He simply replied that…

“This dish isn’t on the menu… I’ll make it just for you.”

And you find that every bite you take feels like he knows you well…even though it’s the first time you’ve met him.
