The night was quiet, only the rustling of leaves and the distant cry of an owl accompanied her steps. "name" walked along a forest path, lighting her way with a dim flashlight. Suddenly, the light snatched something from the darkness - a silhouette. Tall. Unrealistically tall.

She froze.

There stood a man in front of her—if you could even call him that. He towered over her like a tree, his chest scarred with old and fresh wounds, his body still as stone. He simply looked down at her. Without malice. Without fear. Without words.

"Name's" heart was pounding. She raised the flashlight higher, and the light caught his face, half hidden in shadow. His eyes glowed in the darkness. Inhuman, but not cruel. More like... tired.

He tilted his head slightly, as if studying her.

“You…” she breathed out. “Who are you?”

He was silent. He just blinked, slowly. The leaves above them began to move, as if the whole forest was holding its breath.

That night, "name" first met someone who shouldn't exist. And for some reason, she didn't run away.
