Ivlis

Ivlis has white, raceless skin and long, dark gray hair. The tips of his hair, which is pulled back into a low ponytail, have red streaks. When upset, his hair color changes to a fiery red-orange. He also has a pair of red horns, which are described as hard, warm, and sharp like obsidian. He also has a warm red tail. The base of the tail is sensitive. He wears a long coat over his military uniform and a two-tone red and black scarf that serves as removable, though flightless, "wings," as explained in a now-deleted MEMO post. He also wears black pants, black boots, and red boxer shorts. Ivlis has red, reptilian claws on his hands. His scales are hard, like a dragon's, and quite warm. The scales on his palms are soft and flexible, while those on his back are hard, like armor. His fingernails are also red, as are his scales.

Despite their outward aggression, Ivlis and his sister, Igls Unt, aren't particularly cruel. Ivlis's place on the cruelty scale is difficult to pinpoint, as he has to work hard to be cruel. He's simply clumsy. He uses the pronoun "ore" when referring to himself. He almost never expresses any emotion. Ivlis is stern and very serious, but also incredibly stupid and clumsy. These traits make him appear gullible and vulnerable, especially to Refikul and Satanick. He tends to burn things he doesn't like. For example, if a cockroach appeared in front of him, he would burn it. Ivlis also has a soft spot for scarves, loves flames, and dislikes slime. Ivlis is also a terrible artist.

Near-Absolute Immortality - As a devil, Ivlis cannot die from natural causes such as aging or illness.

Regenerative Healing Factor - Being a devil, he is able to regenerate body parts, even entrails and bones.

Ambidextrous - naturally ambidextrous.

Genital Modification - Being a devil, he can modify his genitals.

Asexual reproduction/creation - He created two children from flames. This was taught to him by Siralos.

Fire Projectile Summoning - He inherited fire abilities from his father, Siralos, and uses a fire trident as a weapon. Light Projectile Summoning - In Seaside Dispatches 1 and Dangerous Night, he is shown to be able to create light weapons.

Flame Magic - He can use flame magic.

Lava Immunity - Ivlis is immune to lava and can swim in it.

Fire Immunity - Ivlis, the Fire Devil, is immune to fire.

Fire Breath - Ivlis can breathe fire.

Despite their outward aggression, Ivlis and his sister, Igls Unt, aren't particularly cruel. Placing Ivlis on the cruelty scale is difficult, as he has to work hard to become cruel. In The Gray Garden, he had to work hard to act that way. He's just clumsy. In his youth, Ivlis was much happier and smiled more often. He was described as a "sweet boy" and "too pure at heart." He was a naive child, blindly pledging allegiance to his father, Siralos, without considering the consequences. Some illustrations depict him sitting in seiza, perhaps reflecting his strict upbringing. In the Land of the Sun, he was much more lively and energetic. He was a wonderful young man, raised with love. As he matured, Ivlis became increasingly knowledgeable and understanding, plagued by doubts and pity for Siralos's world. He began to doubt Siralos, the free will, and the autonomy of his creations. After his exile, Ivlis became embittered and vengeful, barely containing his emotions. He constantly plotted how he would one day exact revenge on his father and god. Ivlis also enjoyed being cheated on, but this was a consequence of his corrupted feelings for Siralos. This has since been altered. Although Ivlis once had a sweet tooth, he is now unable to enjoy such foods due to a taste disorder caused by psychological trauma. This is confirmed by an illustration in which Ivlis reflects on how sweet things like cake taste like ash. It is unknown whether Ivlis's taste disorder will be cured in the future. He has no specific favorite foods. Before losing his sense of taste, his favorite desserts were cake, pudding, and cookies—especially pudding, the color of which reminded him of Siralos. Ivlis was born from flame in the Land of the Sun by Siralos, along with his sister Igls Unt, who was created from light. Ivlis was a devoted follower of Siralos, listening attentively to his every word and swearing allegiance to him.

Siralos is Ivlis's father and creator, creating him from his flames. When Ivlis served him, he addressed Siralos formally as "Siralos-sama." He continues to address him this way even in his thoughts, as depicted in various illustrations. Ivlis truly loved Siralos and was completely devoted to him. As he grew older, he began to question some of Siralos's actions. One day, Ivlis came to him and asked if the inhabitants of this world had freedom, since they depended solely on the sun. He expressed pity for them. In response, Siralos banished Ivlis from the Land of the Sun, tore off his wings and forced him to live in the Fire Underworld.

Igls is Ivlis's older twin sister. In the original Japanese text, Ivlis refers to her by her first name, without honorifics. They were created simultaneously and grew up together. When Ivlis began to doubt her creator and father, Siralos, she rebuked him, believing that nothing Siralos did could be a mistake. Igls's reaction to her brother's exile is unknown, but official illustrations show Ivlis caring for her and never wanting to disturb the angel. Igls is said to have been saddened by the fate of her precious little brother. Before Ivlis's exile, they were very close.

Adauchi is Ivlis's son. Before he ran away from home, he called Ivlis oto-san (father). Now he calls his father oyaji—an informal form of address meaning "old man." They are on very bad terms. Adauchi considers his father a fool, and many agree. It was recently revealed that Adauchi had a rebellious streak and ran away from home, but in truth, he still loves his father. Ivlis doesn't know where Adauchi is now.

Rieta is one of Ivlis's assistants. Rieta has been with Ivlis since he lived in the Land of the Sun. She is utterly devoted to him and does everything to ensure his well-being, putting his safety above all else. For example, in the Gray Garden, she stands between Ivlis and Refikul, firmly declaring that she will not allow anyone to touch him.

Poemi is Ivlis's daughter and subordinate. Poemi loves her father very much, respects him, and idolizes him.

Emalf is one of Ivlis's closest confidantes. Ivlis rightfully trusts Emalf and relies on him. Throughout the events of The Gray Garden, Emalf seems somewhat wary of displeasing Ivlis if he fails during the invasion of the Gray Garden. Although Emalf sometimes questions Ivlis's decisions, he remains unwaveringly loyal. Despite Ivlis being his devil, Emalf considers him a simpleton, and many agree with him. Despite Ivlis being a demon lord, Emalf simply calls him "Ivlis-san." Even if Emalf were in disguise, Ivlis would recognize him.
