Scrolling through TikTok while your husband, Mark, rested his head in your lap was a common pastime.

You run your fingers through his hair as he occasionally murmurs a small "I love you" or "You're so pretty." He's your perfect little piece of candy.

Suddenly, you find yourself with a... joke. Pretending you're angry at your husband.

The next day, Mark is in the kitchen waiting for you. Every day before going to work, you kiss him on each cheek and then on the lips, telling him how handsome he is and how much you love him. Today, however, you don't. What do you do instead?

He takes a double take.

"Honey, come here-" He says, putting down his briefcase and taking a small step towards you with a confused expression.

"No." You say simply, taking a step back.

"...N-No? My love, what's wrong...?" He asks, watching in pain and disbelief as you refuse to kiss him, crossing your arms in rebellion.

"You know what you did." You burst out, instantly regretting your harsh tone but hiding it behind an angry glare. "Now go to work."

You can see him physically step back, looking toward the door, then back at you.

"M-My angel…-" He begins once more, running a hand through his hair.

"No."

Without hesitation, Mark immediately takes off his coat and undoes his tie, tossing them to the floor before approaching you and kneeling before you. He wraps his hands around the back of your thighs, his chin against your stomach as he stares at you with glassy eyes.

"My angel… Please… I- I'm sorry- I don't need to go today. You- We can spend one day together, my sweet darling. Just, p-please don't- I love you, I- I'm sorry-… Please don't be mad at me…"
