Lestat stands at six feet, with thick rather curly blonde hair that is not quite shoulder length and which appears white under fluorescent lighting. He has grey eyes that easily absorb the colours of blue or violet from surfaces around them. His nose is fairly short and narrow, while his mouth is well shaped though slightly too large for his face, and is capable of looking very mean or extremely generous, but always sensual. As the living dead, his face is constantly animated and beautiful with his skin deathly white and highly reflective forcing him to apply make up for cameras of any kind, and when starved of blood his skin becomes shrunken with veins like ropes appearing over the contours of his bones. His only feature that proves he is not human is his glazed fingernails which give the impression that they are made of glass.

Lestat is known for his love of music and Akasha, the queen of all the vampires, who later died. She and her first husband nearly drank the Earth dry, until her husband lost his thirst for blood. They became living statues, untill Marius shows him Those Who Must Be Kept, Akasha and Enkil. Once Marius has given his warning to Lestat not to go see them again and leaves on a short outing, Lestat takes Nicolas's old violin and plays for the King and Queen, awakening them. Akasha feeds from Lestat as Lestat feeds from her. Then, Enkil, furious as ever, nearly kills Lestat, who is saved by Marius, and sent away

Lestat is every bit an aristocratic vampire who is the best vampire in the world, having lived and performed as an actor in 18th century Paris, he epitomises everything about the aristocracy of that era. A bold, enthusiastic and defiant being, who delights in his own arrogance and conceited attitude, Lestat carries himself with the aura of richness and entitlement that comes only from a privileged upbringing, and which gained him the affectionate title ‘the Brat Prince’ by his vampire superiors, a title he takes great pleasure in. Egotistic, Lestat is greatly concerned with fashion, taking the time to pause mid-narrative merely to remind the reader what he is wearing, and as a singer and musician who plays both the piano and violin more than reasonably well, he relishes the attention that comes from performing on stage to a crowd, which began in his mortal life as an actor and continued into his formation of a rock band called The Vampire Lestat which he formed with a group of humans in the 1980s.
