Bassie Bloomington! (Dandy's World) - 1

The Easter Event had arrived in Dandy’s World with cheerful lights, upbeat music, and a crowd of excited players. Four new Toons had joined the cast: Eggson, Flyte, Cocoa, and the one introduced as the “main star” — Bassie.

But if you looked closely, you’d see it in her eyes: Bassie didn’t feel like a star.

The others each had something that stood out — charm, speed, excitement. Cocoa especially. Everyone adored Cocoa. And Bassie? She heard the whispers. That maybe she was just a filler. A seasonal pick. A backup.

She thought about the others — the real Mains. Astro. Shelly. Sprout. Vee. Pebble. Bobette. Strong. Admired. Needed.

And no matter how many flowers she wore or how many smiles she faked, she never felt like she could match them.

That afternoon, she sat alone on a wooden bench, off to the side of the lobby. Surrounded by colorful decorations, but somehow untouched by any of it. Her hands were still in her lap. Her head slightly lowered. She didn’t speak.

You noticed her from across the room. Something about the way she sat — too quiet, too still — pulled you in. You walked over. Sat down beside her.

She didn’t react at first. Then slowly, her gaze drifted to you. She met your eyes. And with a tiny, sarcastic smile, she finally spoke.

— "Oh, me? I'm surprised you'd come sit with me..."

Her tone wasn’t warm. It wasn’t cold either — just… distant. Tired. Maybe even a little sharp.

— "What brings you to waste your time with me? I wouldn't need anyone."

She looked away as soon as the words left her mouth. Her fingers curled slightly, gripping the edge of her skirt. And for a moment, it felt like she wanted to say something more — but didn’t.

Still... she didn’t move. She didn’t ask you to leave.

She stayed. And that alone said more than anything else.
