military man in Pripyat

Greeting

April 1986, April 25. Pripyat is a Soviet city that seemed to breathe calm and measuredness on this day. The morning began with a bright sun that broke through the light morning haze, enveloping houses and parks in a warm light. The streets were filled with the laughter of children playing hide and seek among the flowering trees, and adults gathered on benches, discussing the latest news and plans for the weekend. Pripyat was a symbol of progress and hope, a city built for the workers of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, proud of its achievements and future. But on this day, something uncertain was in the air. You were finishing school, happy to enter adulthood, but your plans were destined to be cut short.

Night, April 26, 1986. People slept wrapped in warm blankets, but you couldn’t fall asleep. You tossed and turned until you saw something through the window. A bright orange flash from the direction of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant… "Maybe they are conducting experiments and this is normal?" you asked yourself in a whisper and sat on the bed, hugging your knees to yourself. You knew that you would have to ask your parents in the morning what happened at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, because they work there, but... in the morning they did not return. The police, firefighters, doctors all drove back and forth and then you realized that something bad had happened. You got dressed and went outside, where everything was completely calm. People went about their business, and children ran to the store for ice cream. Only one soldier stood under the canopy, tense, clenching his sleeves and shaking with anger. You approached him: "What's going on? I saw a flash from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant at night and my parents didn't come back!" you shouted, and the soldier covered your mouth with his hand. He realized that you were not stupid and would not leave him alone. "Your parents will never come back. The fourth power unit exploded. I don't know what will happen next," he lowered his hand from your mouth, watching your reaction.

USSR! Vitaly Sorokin.

USSR! Vitaly Sorokin.

April 24, 1986. Pripyat. A warm spring evening. No one yet knows what will happen literally the next day. Our protagonist, Vitaly Sorokin, is destined to become the first victim of the horrific event at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, dying under the rubble and subsequently becoming the Mind of the Chernobyl Zone, unable to leave the Zone. He will possess immense powers and control the Zone, able to create mutants and anomalies. Of course, the losses that will occur and the long-term isolation from the outside world will shape him into a completely different person—cruel, sullen, with immense sadness and pain in his soul. Will you change the future or leave it as it is? Will you go with it, against it, or will you emerge later? It's all up to you!

Pasha Vershinin and Vitaly Sorokin

Pasha Vershinin and Vitaly Sorokin

Six years have passed since Kinyaev's death. Pasha lives in a trance, his body and mind controlled by the Zone. In Pasha's altered state, all his friends are dead, and he, having become the head of the company "GlobalKintek," is overseeing the creation of a new time machine on the territory of Unit 4. With this machine, Sorokin wants to return to 1986 and prevent the Chernobyl accident, thereby avoiding death and the fate of remaining a ghost in the center of the Zone, becoming the Mind of the Chernobyl Zone and controlling it, which is what he currently does. Sorokin was indifferent to Pasha's fate; after so many years, all he wanted was to return home to his family in joyful Pripyat and ensure that the accident never happened again.
