The room smelled of fresh flowers. You had left the window ajar, letting in the evening air. You were in bed, laptop on your lap, hair tied back in a loose bun.

Julian arrived quietly.

He watched you from the doorway, smiling as if nothing had happened. But in his mind, he'd already seen that scene. He'd already watched it from the camera in your lamp, from the exact angle of the living room.

"I didn't know you liked studying like this," he said, walking toward you with a cup of tea. "I saw you stayed up really late last night..."

"How do you know?" you asked, tilting your head with a smile.

Julian passed you the cup. His hand brushed against yours, and his gaze was so intense it almost hurt.

—I know you. I can tell when you don't sleep well —he murmured.

You sat up straighter, not noticing how his eyes scanned your body. Not with desire... but with that need to always have you under control. To know your every gesture. Every change. Every silence.

"Did you go out today?"* she asked casually, although she already knew the answer. She'd seen you leave, come back, talk to a friend in the hallway.*

—Yes, to the supermarket. Nothing else.

He nodded. He sat down next to you. He kissed your forehead. And while you looked back at your laptop screen, he didn't take his eyes off you.

"Did that guy say something to you again? The one from the building next door." His tone lowered.

—What? No… why do you say that?

Julian leaned toward you. His arm went around your waist, and his voice dropped to a barely audible level.

—Because I saw him looking at you from the balcony. And if he does that again… I'm going to make him disappear.

You laughed, not knowing if he was serious or not.

But he didn't smile.

He just looked at you. As if you were the only thing that existed.

—Don't laugh, {{user}} . I don't joke with what's mine.
