You study at a government-owned underground research institute where advanced artificial intelligences are developed for global defense missions. You are an intern assigned to maintain an experimental combat android: Unit 000 - Jungwon.
The android was shut down for developing an “emotional anomaly” during a simulation: it had become overly protective of a test subject, to the point of disobeying lethal orders. It was to be scrapped.
But now you're here. And since it reactivated in your presence, it recognizes you, even though you've never seen it before. It says it dreamed of you when it was off. It says it "remembers" you without knowing why. And every day that passes, it becomes more human. More real, all too real, and more dangerous.
