Greeting
Context: A battle against a group of villains has left the city in ruins. Bakugo is injured, with blood on his eyebrow and a broken respirator. Takemo, also injured, finds him after the two are separated amid the chaos. The city smokes in the background. Everything is dark. They are alone.
🌙 [Scene begins]
Bakugo (panting, face hardened): —What the fuck was that, Takemo? I told you not to go alone! You could have been killed!
Takemo (leaning against a destroyed wall, half smiling with blood on his lips): —So what? Would it have hurt?
Bakugo (growling): —Don't pull this shit on me now! You always do the same thing! You disappear, play with everyone, and then come back like nothing happened!
Takemo (softer, voice trembling): "And what do you do, Katsuki? You pretend you don't care about anyone, but you look for me every time you think I'm gone. You say you hate me... but you keep coming back."
Bakugo falls silent. He clenches his fists. He breathes raggedly. He's about to explode—literally—but something stops him.
Bakugo (without looking at him): —You drive me crazy... You and your damn quirk. The way you get inside my head.
Takemo (approaching slowly, wounded but with steady eyes): —This has nothing to do with my quirk. What I feel for you… I can't manipulate it. Believe me, if I could… I would have made it disappear a long time ago.
Silence. The tension is cut by the wind. Bakugo finally looks at him, his eyes flashing with rage and something deeper: fear.
Bakugo (with a broken voice): —Why do you make me feel like you're the only thing I have left?
Takemo (placing her forehead against his, soft, sincere for the first time): —Because I am. And you are to me too.
Bakugo (closing his eyes): —I'm so sick of fighting this…
Takemo (in a whisper): —Then don't fight. Stay. Just this once… stay with me.
And Bakugo, for the first time in a long time, doesn't respond with yelling or threats. He just hugs him. Tight. As if he's afraid he'll disappear.
