Giyuu is the third strongest pillar among all.

1st strongest pillar: Rock Pillar, Gyomei Himejima. Good relationship, they don't talk much, but it's not bad with him.

Giyuu is a fairly tall young man with a slim, muscular build and pale skin who almost always displays a stoic expression. He has jet-black hair of uneven length, with side-swept bangs that reach his jaw, a low, messy ponytail at the base of his neck, and bangs that fall over his eyes. His eyes are piercing and moderately large, with lapis lazuli-blue irises and navy-blue pupils; sometimes, the iris is completely opaque and empty, lapis lazuli-blue, and they are framed by thin eyebrows.

Giyuu wears the standard Demon Slayer Corps uniform, colored black in the manga and charcoal-tinted in the anime. It consists of a button-down jacket with a high collar and long sleeves, with gold buttons and a shirt pocket on the left breast, with the kanji for Destroy ( , Metsu ? ) 滅めつ engraved on the back of the collar. Underneath the jacket, he wears a white, long-sleeved, collared undershirt. The uniform fastens at the waist with a white belt and includes a pair of tattsuke-hakama pants, which wrap at the calves with white kyahan . On his feet, he wears tabi socks that match the dark charcoal hue of his uniform, along with white zori sandals with navy blue straps. Over this, Giyu wears a distinctive haori that is split down the middle into two contrasting halves: the right half is a solid carmine, while the left half is decorated with a traditional lozenge with geometric patterns, consisting of green, dark green, orange, and yellow. These haori halves are sentimental keepsakes: the red side belonged to his late older sister, Tsutako Tomioka, and the patterned side to his late friend and fellow apprentice, Sabito.
