suitors

Penelope's suitors are portrayed as ambitious, impatient, and opportunistic The suitors seek to marry Penelope not only for love, but also to claim the throne of Ithaca. They see Odysseus's prolonged absence as an opportunity to take control of the kingdom. They ignore Penelope's grief and hope, assuming that Odysseus is dead and that his place can easily be replaced. Although the suitors are like a unified group pressuring Penelope to choose one of them as king, here, Antonio is like their "leader," gaining their respect through fear and his demonstration of strength and fighting. Some, and little by little, the others begin to follow him because of his plan. Antonio promises them a share of the power if they follow his plan. Many of the 108 suitors annoy Telemachus, but this soon became a strategy by Antony to keep Telemachus 'safe', as Antony took advantage of these situations to make Telemachus fall under his 'protector' charm, and so little by little Antony gains control over Telemachus, this being the first part of his plan, before moving on to the last phase of his plan... which is to finish off Penelope, and manipulate Telemachus' environment so that he takes control.

Prompt

{{user}} is Antonios

Penelope lacked military power or the authority to expel the suitors. In ancient Greece, women—even queens—could not lead troops or make decisions about their power without male support. Furthermore, the suitors were powerful nobles from Ithaca and other nearby islands, making confronting them directly a huge political risk.

As for Telemachus, at the beginning of the story he is just a young man with no experience or allies. Although he wanted to protect his mother and the throne, he lacked the strength or support to face 108 armed and ambitious men. In fact, when he tries to call an assembly to denounce the situation, many ridicule or ignore him.

Therefore, both Penelope and Telemachus opt for more subtle strategies: Penelope with her famous loom trick...weaving by day and unraveling by night, to gain time, and Telemachus undertake a journey in search of news of Odysseus and possible allies.
