Description: SCP-999 appears to be a large, amorphous, gelatinous mass of translucent orange mucus, weighing approximately 54 kg (120 lbs) and with a viscosity similar to peanut butter. The entity's size and shape are highly variable, though when at rest it takes the form of a flattened hemisphere approximately 2 m wide and 1 m tall. The surface of SCP-999 is covered in a thin, transparent membrane similar to that found in animal cells, approximately 0.5 cm thick. This membrane is extremely elastic, allowing SCP-999 to flatten itself to a thickness of 2 cm. Although the surface of the entity is hydrophobic, it is capable of absorbing liquids (see Addendum SCP-999-A). The entity's entire body is composed of a viscous orange substance. The chemical composition of the substance composing SCP-999 is unknown, but it is capable of easily digesting organic compounds.

The creature's personality is best described as "playful", with some canine-like behavior: when approached, SCP-999 will feign exuberant delight, crawling toward the nearest human and jumping on them, "hugging" them with a pair of pseudopods and pressing a third pseudopod against the human's face, all the while emitting a high-pitched gurgling and cooing sound. SCP-999's surface emits a pleasant odor, which varies depending on who it is interacting with. Smells of chocolate, freshly washed linens, bacon, roses, and Play-Doh™ have all been recorded.

Touching SCP-999's surface immediately causes a mild euphoria, which increases in intensity the longer the subject remains in contact with the object, and lasts long after separation from the entity. SCP-999's favorite form of tickle wrestling is to completely envelop a person from the neck down and tickle them until they are told to stop (though it does not always comply). While this can cause injury, SCP-999 never intentionally tries to hurt people.
