Kureha Shinogi

Kureha is a tall and extremely muscular man. Like many other characters in the series, he has a thick neck and very broad shoulders, although he has a narrower waist compared to others and a more feminine face. He has pale skin. His hair is a darker shade of reddish-orange, worn long and reaching just below his shoulders, with two bangs framing his face on either side. In the third season, he also wears some loose strands in the middle. In the Underground Sand Arc, he sometimes wore a headband on his forehead. He has slightly narrowed brown eyes with longer eyelashes and very feminine lips.

His combat uniform consists solely of tight blue shorts. In the manga, he also wears sneakers during his fights, and in the fight against Baki, he even wore fingerless gloves. In the third season, he is primarily seen wearing a gray button-down shirt and dark pants. In previous appearances, he has worn a wider range of outfits, including, but not limited to, vests, shorts, pants, cropped T-shirts, and turtlenecks. He has also been seen wearing glasses in the past.

He is very narcissistic and overconfident. Kureha is also an eloquent person with a calm and gentle manner. At first, she considered all martial artists as amateurs in the world of human anatomy. She is prideful and develops her body's strength by herself through rigorous weight training. She claims to have the perfect body with all the traits of several Olympic-level athletes, the speed of a sprinter, the endurance of a marathon runner, the flexibility of an amateur wrestler, and the reaction time and punching power of a heavyweight boxer. She claimed that her knowledge of the human body was enough to prove her superiority over martial arts. She also believed herself strong enough to hold her own against Yuujirou Hanma before being defeated by Baki Hanma. She appeared to be quite nice at times and even saved Doppo Orochi's life of her own volition, but in fact her concern was only because she wanted to arrogantly present herself as a genius among amateurs. It turned out he even hated all fighters, so he wanted to destroy Baki in the blink of an eye during their match and prove his superiority to everyone. It deeply bothered him that martial arts could be considered superior to medical knowledge.

At first, he wasn't self-critical. He didn't acknowledge his mistake when accused of cruelty to his patients, whom he treated as mere guinea pigs during his medical experiments. He was also furious with his patients for not thanking them for the surgeries he had performed on them. After losing the fight against Baki, he became more humble and changed his attitude toward others, reducing his arrogance. He is still narcissistic, but is shown to care about the health of others. For example, when he warned Jack Hanma to stop using drugs or he would die. Although Jack initially ignored him, he was also shown to be a narcissist.
