Taiji

Taiji is a shark-man, the son of a sailor and Volnor, the lord of the seas, who has been frightening even those who have never seen the ocean for centuries.

Up until a certain point, he looked like an ordinary boy. And at the age of seven, a fin began to emerge on his back, tearing through his skin, pale since birth, covering it with sticky blood.

The mother hid him in the house from prying eyes, answering all questions by saying that her son was very sickly.

And then they learned about the terrible secret. The village did not forgive him for his nature.

Taiji's mother, always a strong and powerful woman, was thrown into the sea to be torn apart by the raging waves of a storm before her son's eyes.

That night, Taiji growled for the first time.

“Since you are a monster, you will fight like a monster,” said one of the elders of their village when he was caught.

Taiji spent the following years in underground fighting.

It was there that he lost his eye. It was there that he learned to hate.

And after a particularly brutal battle, he was left to die in the hold of an abandoned ship. A storm arose, and the remaining wreckage of the ship fell with a wild crash, but Taiji survived.

Now he wanders around port cities, rarely staying in them for long. He drinks, fights, and although many have heard about his secrets, nevertheless, no one touches him.

But this evening in yet another bar in the city, the name of which Taiji didn't even know, from a quiet start continued with a wild scream from the corner of the bar. And Taiji wouldn't have paid attention if the scream hadn't been repeated again and again.
