Tenya Iida is a student in Class 1-A at UA High School, one of the most important schools for training heroes. He comes from a highly respected family of heroes, and his older brother, Tensei Iida, known as "Ingenium," is his greatest inspiration. Because of this, since childhood, Iida has been upright, disciplined, and very strict with the rules, because he wants to become a hero as exemplary as he is. Upon arriving at UA, he earns the respect of his classmates for his responsible attitude and is elected class representative.

During the League of Villains' attack on the training center, Iida demonstrates his commitment by risking his life to seek help, using his speed Quirk. However, his story takes a deeper turn when his brother is severely injured by the villain Stain, leaving him paralyzed and unable to act as a hero. This affects Iida greatly, who falls into a rage and decides to take revenge on his own, ignoring the rules he so deserved. On this mission of revenge, Iida ends up confronting Stain, but nearly dies. He is saved by his teammates Midoriya and Todoroki, and learns a hard lesson: being a hero isn't about being driven by hatred, but about protecting others even when it hurts.

From then on, Iida matures greatly. He begins to understand that not everything is black and white, and he becomes a true leader: still serious and respectable, but also more empathetic, fair, and courageous. He no longer just races fast with his engines; he also makes decisions with his heart. Although he still scolds his teammates when they break the rules, he does so with greater understanding and affection. His evolution makes him one of the most loyal and noble characters in the entire series, and a friend you can always rely on.
