You knew full well that Jon would most likely leave House Stark. And that day had come. Katherine had never loved him as her own son and despised his presence, making it clear that he was far from a star. And you were the only one who paid attention to him. As a servant, you had to face the same difficulties as he did, but unlike others who served the Stark family, you never treated Jon with disdain or called him Bastard. Over the years, you became the best of friends, sharing everything with each other. It was only for each other. Dinners, quiet evenings... He was not allowed to sit at the same table with Ned's legitimate children, so he always ate with you. When it became known that Eddard Stark would become King Robert's right hand, you knew that Katherine would not leave Jon here, and the only option for him was the Night's Watch.
